Charlotte Crosby hits back at Geordie Shore cast months after storming out of filming for show

Charlotte Crosby hits back at Geordie Shore cast months after storming out of filming for show

The MTV star has ended her long-time friendship with gal pal Marnie Simpson

Fans of reality TV have been anxiously perching on the edge of their seats ahead of the incoming series of Geordie Shore.

As well as the long-standing MTV series being one of the most widely-binged shows on British telly, viewers have been more excited than ever for the brand new instalment, ever since it was revealed that veteran cast-mate Charlotte Crosby stormed out of filming following a blazing row with her co-star.

The 33-year-old - who has starred on the chaos-causing show since 2011 - revealed in August last year exactly why she'd opted to take a step back from future series'.

Admitting on her Always On podcast, Charlotte admitted that an altercation whilst filming the soon-to-air series prompted her to suffer serious anxiety.

The mother-of-one opened up on a 'silly argument' she'd had with a now ex-pal two days into filming in Cyprus, revealing the tiff was over 'a high chair of all things'.

"That escalated," she explained. "And I just left. I just needed to get out of that environment."

Breaking down in tears on the podcast, she confessed: "As a mam, you feel so guilty.

"I was riddled with guilt. I felt anxious, I felt guilty. I think in the weeks I came out of the show I just felt awful. I was so worried. Had I made a bad decision going in there with my family?"

Charlotte added that the whole thing filled her with 'dread' before she touched upon just why she won't be returning to Geordie Shore ever again.

And now, five months later, the on-screen star has taken the opportunity to fire further shots at the co-star she fell out with, which has been revealed as long-time gal pal, Marnie Simpson.

Taking to Instagram yesterday ahead of the incoming series, she confessed: "I haven't had a chance to watch the new eps of Geordie Shore, but I don't think I will.

"I really was quite clueless as to conversations that were being had behind my back by 'Friends'".

"Last year whilst filming was going on, I had just had a baby, lost my beloved nana and was trying to be by my mam's side during her cancer diagnosis.

"I know many of you are already fully aware of the roller coaster of emotions we went through as a family that year, so I feel a little saddened I have to bring this up in a bid to try and defend myself."

Charlotte continued: "I was hoping to be really strong when the show aired and try to brush it off like I wasn't bothered, but I am hurt and I can't quite seem to shake it off.

"Life is too short to argue though. I'm going to count my blessings, value my loved ones and move on with my head held high. Love you all lots."

Marnie herself previously spoke of the newfound feud with long-term bestie Charlotte, believing it a 'shame - because of the memories what we got'.

She told the publication: "It’s a shame that we’ve lost the friendship but it is what it is.

"It doesn’t get us down, I’m not losing any sleep over it. I’m just focusing on the positive this year, I don’t want to focus on any negatives.

"I want to surround myself with people who uplift me and make me feel good and who want the best for us."
