An influencer was left feeling 'violated' after a luxury gym in LA rejected her application after looking at her Instagram.

A gym sign-up is usually straight forward - fill in an application form, pay an induction fee, and off you go.

The hardest part is actually finding the motivation to turn up.

But one LA influencer was left with her jaw on the floor when she was rejected entry into a health club, after the team had viewed her Instagram account.

Needless to say we would be living in and breathing in this gym 24/7, as the online star revealed that it costs $600 per month!

Speaking on the Cancelled Podcast that she co-hosts with Tana Mongeau, Brooke Schofield exposed the gym for its superficial application process.

Brooke showed up to the gym in her work out gear with a friend, ready to complete the sign-up.

But she was stopped in her tracks when the receptionist informed her that you 'can't sign up'.

"We do it all online," the receptionist added.

"What are the qualifications, do I need to show you my cellulite and bank balance?," Tana joked.

The influencer then sat down to complete the online process, but was shocked again when she saw that there were just three questions.

To her surprise, the over-priced gym only wanted her name, address, and Instagram handle.

"When it was over, I felt like I just got violated," Brooke said.

She later revealed on the podcast that her application was rejected.

Meanwhile, the friend she went with, who applied at the exact same time, was approved.

Brooke added: "If they accepted me now, I'd be like, f*** you guys so much.

"Because what did you see that first time on my Instagram that made you deny me to begin with?"

The clip has since gone viral, and people in the comments have been quick to share their thoughts.

One said: "I am realising I wouldn't survive in LA."

Another added: "$600?? I just cancelled and switched because my current gym raised their price to $60 a month."

A third wrote: "Whattttt who would turn down Brooke based on her Instagram."

One person noted that the staggering gym membership was the price of their 'monthly rent'.

Another pointed out the fact that Brooke was already quite popular on Instagram, writing: "That’s crazy bc I just checked and she has 834k followers… like how many followers did she need to be accepted???? A million????"
