Billie Eilish defended after fans spot bizarre detail in jaw-dropping new photo

Billie Eilish has been defended by fans after the internet was left well and truly confused by one detail in a recent photo of the star.

The Grammy-winning American singer, 23, appeared in an Instagram story shared on Sunday (14 December) by her musician friend Lucy Healey.

In the snap, captioned 'happy holidays', Billie sported a plunging navy and white polka dot top and posed with her hand on her hip, while sipping on some sort of bottle.

The photo has quickly gone viral on social media and people have been left baffled over what the mysterious drink is, with some suggesting it could be a baby bottle.

One Twitter user penned: "The baby bottle is really freaking me out."

While a second chimed in with: "Not to sound like ms. hetero but wtf is that in her hand."

A third said: "Like it looks like a baby bottle."

Coming to the rescue in the replies, someone pointed out that it's most likely an alcoholic drink rather than literal milk.

They penned: "Hi, I'm from Brazil but I'm sure it's a Japanese alcoholic beverage that's sold in baby bottles."

While someone else agreed: "Clearly an alcohol bottle."

Surprisingly, it's not the first time Billie has gone viral for a something baby-related.

Back in 2023, she and her then-boyfriend Jesse Rutherford hit up a Halloween bash together and caused controversy with their costumes.

As they were 20 and 31 at the time, with more than a 10 year age gap, they decided to poke fun at this with their Halloween costumes.

While Eilish dressed up as a baby, Rutherford transformed into an old man, prompting social media to hit out at the outfits.

One Twitter user wrote at the time: "That Billie Eilish costume is extremely disturbing and I absolutely hate it every time it crosses my timeline,” while a second added: “She's of legal age and all but this couple's costume feels uncomfortable.”

“Billie is grown enough to know how weird and creepy this is btw,” said another person, while a fourth went as far as to say: “I feel so sad for Billie Eilish. She thinks she's being big and bad and grown trolling the haters, but she's just showing her immaturity and proving the point.

"Jesse is absolutely f**king disgusting and weird as F**K for agreeing to that costume."
