Beyoncé fans are all saying the same thing about the changed 'Jolene' lyrics on her new Cowboy Carter album.

The 27-track album, which dropped yesterday (28 March), includes a special cover rendition of Dolly Parton's smash-hit which was released way back when in 1973, as well as an interlude from the country singer icon herself where she referenced Beyoncé's 'Becky'.

In the song, however, the 42-year-old 'Drunk in Love' star made some major amendments - most notably with the chorus.

Dolly's original lyrics go: "Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / I'm begging of you please don't take my man / Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / Please don't take him just because you can."

While Bey's are more of a warning rather than a pleading.

Her tweaked lyrics read: "Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / I'm warning you, don't come for my man / Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene / Don't take the chance because you think you can."

And it wasn't just the chorus Bey switched up, as she also changed the lyrics in the verses with the second verse revealing her confidence that her man would stay loyal and stick by her.

"Good deeds roll in like tumbling weeds / I sleep good happy, cause you can't dig up our planted seeds / I know my man's gon' stand by me breathing in my gentle breeze," they read.

Fans, who are clearly loving the album, have since rushed to social media to share their praise and elation over the Jolene-Dolly-Parton-Becky crossover.

One X user wrote: "Beyoncé! That album is an experience. She gave us everything. She was right it's not a country album it's a Beyoncé album which means it's well thought out, with excellent vocals, catchy beats, artistic intelligence and creativity. Ow and Becky still catching strays."

A second penned: "Between Dolly calling Becky with the good hair a hussy and Beyoncé telling Jolene she don’t want no smoke, I’m on the f**king floor!"

"This Beyoncé album is something else she a whole MENACE omg miss Becky with the good hair needs to go into witness protection, also if not already clear ALBUM OF THE MF YEAR," gushed a third.

"Her personality really shines through on this one. Always got a surprise up her sleeve. God damn!"

And a fourth quipped: "Beyoncé should’ve renamed 'Jolene' as 'Becky'."

"Beyoncé said 'I ain’t forget about you Becky'," echoed a fifth while a sixth chimed in: "Jolene is definitely Beyoncé warning Becky with the good hair to leave her man Sean Carter."
