It looks like two of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's children are ready to leave the 'Pitt' surname behind.
According to reports, siblings Zahara, 21, and Maddox, 24, have taken out newspaper notices as part of the legal process to officially change their names to 'Jolie’.
If taking out a newspaper ad sounds like a bit of a throwback, there's actually a reason for it.

In the state of California, publishing a notice is a routine part of legally changing your name, giving anyone who may object the opportunity to come forward before the request can be signed off by a court.
In legal documents seen by Page Six, Zahara published her petition to drop the Fight Club actor’s surname in local newspaper The Los Angeles Daily Journal once a week for four consecutive weeks.
Similarly, Maddox reportedly published his name drop petition in the same paper four weeks in a row across June and July.
Zahara is now reportedly scheduled for a court hearing on 28 September for a judge to rule on the motion, assuming no one objects.
While the legal process itself isn't unusual, the move has caught plenty of attention thanks to Zahara and Maddox’s famous parents.

This is just the latest development involving the Pitt-Jolie family, with several of the former couple's children having already stopped using their dad’s surname publicly in recent years.
Back in 2024, Maddox and Zahara’s sister Shiloh, 20, legally dropped ‘Pitt’ from her name after turning 18.
The first of the siblings to change her name, Shiloh reportedly hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Similarly, their sister Vivienne, 18, dropped the surname ‘Pitt’ when she appeared in a Broadway production of The Outsiders in 2024, credited in the Playbill as ‘Vivienne Jolie’, People reported.
Jolie and Pitt, who share six children together, split in 2016 after more than a decade as a couple.

Their divorce sparked years of public legal battles, including disputes over custody arrangements and the French winery they once owned together.
Neither actor has publicly commented on the reported name change notices.
However, after Shiloh become the first of the six siblings to legally drop 'Pitt' from her name, a source close to the actor said at the time that he was 'aware and upset' about the name change.
The source told People: "The reminders that he’s lost his children, is of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad."
Tyla has contacted representatives for both Pitt and Jolie for comment.
