Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt has now filed to legally remove 'Pitt' from his surname.
According to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday (28 May), 24-year-old Maddox has requested that his name be changed to 'Maddox Chivan Jolie'.
Earlier this year, Maddox featured as an assistant director on his mother’s movie Couture, which debuted in French theatres.
He was listed as 'Maddox Jolie', instead of his birth name, 'Maddox Jolie-Pitt'.
Previously, Maddox featured his Jolie-Pitt surname when he was listed as Jolie's director's assistant when he directed the biopic, Maria, back in 2024.
Jolie, 50, and Pitt, 62, were married from 2014 to 2016 and have remained locked in legal disputes since their separation.

Although all of the children originally used the surname Jolie-Pitt, several of Maddox’s siblings have since dropped 'Pitt' following their parents’ split.
Zahara accepted her diploma from Spelman College earlier this month (17 May), and her name was listed as 'Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt' on the college's commencement programme.
And this wasn't the first time she dropped her father's moniker, as she introduced herself as 'Zahara Marley Jolie' when joining the university's Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in November 2023.
Jolie and Pitt's younger daughter Vivienne also made the same decision in 2024.
The teenager, who helped her mum produce the musical, The Outsiders, was reportedly listed as Vivienne Jolie in the Playbill, instead of Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.
And in another bombshell revelation, it was claimed that their other daughter, Shiloh, had followed in her siblings' footsteps.

"The media should be more careful in their reporting, especially when covering a young adult who has made an independent and significant decision following painful events, and is merely following legal process," Levine told PEOPLE.
The name changes come after Jolie filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband, Pitt, in 2022, claiming he had been abusive towards her and their children during a flight in 2016, which led to their public divorce.
Pitt's legal team has maintained his innocence since.
