The Britain's Got Talent final was a hit with viewers for many reasons, but Susan Boyle and Michael Ball's duet evidently wasn't one of them.

Sunday night's grand finale, which saw war veteran Colin Thackery win the show and reduce the nation to a blubbering wreck, featured a surprise performance from runner-up of the 2009 series, Susan Boyle, and actor and singer Michael Ball.

We had such high hopes for SuBo's comeback ten years on, but admittedly, the performance left much to be desired on the harmony side - and fans are complaining that Michael 'ruined it'.

Taking to Twitter, one disgruntled viewer claimed the 56-year-old 'sang over' Susan during their rendition of 'A Million Dreams' from The Greatest Showman.

Another said: "I just watched Susan Boyle and Michael Ball's duet at #BGT final. Susan was fine, but Michael completely ruined it for her," adding "That duet will go down in history with the likes of Madonna's Eurovision 2019 car crash."

At one point in the performance, Michael appeared to carry on the note once Susan has stopped, leading a viewer to joke: "Literally what was going through Susan Boyle's head as Michael carried on 'singing'."

The pair teamed up to record the track for the ten-year anniversary of 58-year-old Susan's legendary tenure on the show, but the performance fell flat for many.

Some even wondered if the pair had forgotten to rehearse.

OK, the performance was hardly a Beyoncé and Alexandra Burke moment but can we give the pair a break? You can't deny SuBo's voice is still just as good ten years on.

Aside from all that, the show was saved by a killer performance by Diversity, the dance troop who won BGT the same year as Susan Boyle.

Nicely done, lads.
