Scores of Britain's Got Talent viewers were left fuming over last night's result which saw Chelsea pensioner Colin Thackery pip fellow finalist, X, to win the show.

Military veteran Colin, who was branded a national treasure throughout the show by fans, saw his dreams come true as he will now perform in front of the royal family at the Royal Variety.

But some fans felt that mysterious X, whose identity had been kept secret throughout his performances, had been robbed of a win during the final on Sunday evening.

In a shock surprise, X was revealed to be 2018 golden buzzer act Marc Spelmann, but the twist didn't see him take home the trophy.

Plenty of fans flocked to Twitter to protest that Marc should have won instead of Colin, with some even going as far to suggest the show was a 'fix'.

"X was robbed! I'm sure Colin is a lovely fella and he fought for our country so thank you. But X was the better talent and should have won!" shared one viewer.

While somebody else tweeted ahead of the winner being announced: "If Colin wins over X I will be fuming, that face reveal was AMAZING."

"Another fix on #BGT X should have won, best moment I've ever seen on that show!" echoed another on team X, and a fourth fumed: "What a complete and utter fix."

A final added: "Not taking anything away from Colin, but the sympathy vote has proved vital again. The best act of BGT was the performance of "X". That cannot be argued with. The intelligence required in it was 2nd to none. End of #BGTFinal."

However, Colin had plenty of supporters who were over the moon to see him crowned winner of Britain's Got Talent 2019.

"I am so proud of Colin the queen will love him as much as I do such a well deserving winner and it makes you appreciate things," posted one.
