Sir David Attenborough is a national treasure, so naturally, we are all devastated to hear him say he doesn't have "many more years" left on the earth he loves so much.
Speaking to The Guardian, the 92-year-old discussed his mortality and how he doesn't have long left to try and prevent a climate catastrophe.
He said: "I'm just coming up to 93, and so I don't have many more years around here. I find it difficult to think beyond that as the signs aren't good."
In the interview, David also praised young activists, such as Greta Thunberg, for taking the future into their own hands and trying to put off the demise of our planet.

And following the Extinction Rebellion protests in London, Attenborough added: "Young people may lack experience but they also have clear sight.
"They can see perhaps more clearly than the rest of us who have been around for some time."
The documentary maker also said that older generations have a lot to learn from young people.

David added: "My generation is no great example for understanding - we have done terrible things. If we are not making progress with young people, we are done."
Attenborough has always been outspoken about taking care of our planet, and is an acclaimed and beloved naturalist who recently presented the BBC documentary Climate Change - The Facts as well as Planet Earth and others.
He will continue spreading his message while presenting the BBC Planet franchise over the next four years, voicing Perfect Planet next year, Frozen Planet Part II in 2021, and Planet Earth III in 2022.
David has been outspoken on the school strikes raising awareness of climate change, calling opposers of it "cynics" in a podcast interview for Outrage and Optimism.

"That is the one big reason I have for feeling we are making progress. If we were not making progress with young people, we are done." he said, praising the protestors.
While it's devastating to imagine a world without David Attenborough, luckily, he should be around for a little longer. The star presenter is in good health and understandably, he is just fearing for a future without him left to take care of the planet and lead the charge against climate change.
