The new Peaky Blinders film has just hit Netflix today, following a limited cinema release earlier this month (6 March).
Fans of the hit crime drama, which first aired in 2013 and concluded in 2022 after treating Netflix viewers to six action-packed seasons, will no doubt be buzzing to watch the film, The Immortal Man, if they haven't already.
Given that it's been a few years since we had our last instalment of the series, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has recommended viewers watch three specific episodes ahead of sitting down for the film to help catch them 'up to speed'.
"For me, these are the most important episodes to watch to get back up to speed with Peaky Blinders," Knight said in an official Peaky Blinders promo video on Facebook.

Season one, episode one
Up first is the first-ever episode of the entire series.
"Episode one, series one, really lays out what this whole series is about," Knight explains. "It introduces Tommy Shelby in a way that I think makes it pretty unequivocal about who this person is."
He continued: "So we see him riding on a horse in an industrial landscape, no words, just his look. The way he is, the attitude, it really says so much about what Peaky is going to be about and the whole episode is essential to know exactly what this family is and what they do and why they are so fearsome."

Season two, episode six
"The last episode of series two features my favourite sequence of the whole series, which is the moment when Tommy Shelby appears to be about to be shot and killed," Knight went on. "There are three people around him with guns; he's unarmed, they've already dug his grave, he has the time to smoke a cigarette, and in that moment, he reviews his life, his regrets, the things he wishes he had done, and I think as an audience we think maybe this is it."
The screenwriter explained that then, there's a twist, given that Tommy survives.
"What that gives us is here is a man who is not sure if he wants to live or die," he added. "And in this moment at the end of episode six, we can see that actually he wants to choose life."

Season six, episode six
And the final episode in Knight's rundown is the last episode of series six, the last television episode.
"It ties up a lot of things. It resolves a lot of things. It's full of surprises, I hope. But at the end... It is a resolution of a sort in that Tommy is confronted with someone who has attempted to kill him and deceive him, and he has a gun in his hand, and he can shoot that person, but he decides not to," he outlined.
"The Tommy, previous to that, would have done that. He puts the gun away, goes back to his horse, and he rides away into the sunset."
Knight adds that the horse he rides away on is a white horse, but the horse he arrived on at the beginning of the series was a black horse.
"I think there is the contrast between the two moments, and maybe we may believe that Tommy is cured, that he's better, that he's riding away to have a simpler life," Knight noted.

He rounded off, saying he hopes fans will be 'shocked and surprised because there's a lot in the movie', teasing: "There's a lot going on, there's a lot of revelations and more than we've ever done we get to the heart of who Tommy Shelby is, what he wants, who he loves, who loves him, who hates him.
"Everything revolves around Tommy Shelby, and this movie really is his movie."
