Bridgerton has been a whirlwind for Lady Violet Bridgerton’s romance with Lord Marcus Anderson, and while the pair were having new experiences in the show, so did actor Daniel Francis.
The drama is no stranger to sex scenes, with fans racing about the quite-literally steaming staircase scene between Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha).
But they were shocked, yet delighted to see Bridgerton give time to the family matriarch and her budding romance with Anderson.
However, the reveal that the pair would be getting saucy on the show left Francis with a ‘new’ experience he may not have expected as his co-star ‘went home and cried’.

Lady Violet Bridgerton star Ruth Gemmel explained she was ‘a little bit shocked’ when it came to being told about her sex scene, and in the end, it might have been a shock for Francis too, who said there was one thing that happened that was unexpected.
Speaking with Independent Culture, Francis explained as he laughed about shooting his scene with Gemmell, that ‘it’s very interesting when the camera’s so close to your a**’.
Calling the moment ‘a laugh’, the actor said behind-the-scenes of the intimate scene was ‘the first time’ he and his co-star had been nude with one another.

However, Francis revealed the pair are ‘comfortable’ with each other, and so it wasn’t a shaky experience to have.
His light heartedness about it comes after Gemmel opened up about the moment she was told about the sex scene in question.
Speaking to Ciné-Télé-Revue in a recent interview, she admitted: "I was in a costume fitting, and I realised that I was being fitted for something that I had no idea was going to happen."

The 58-year-old said the shock of it meant she ‘went home and cried,’ as she took it all in.
"Thankfully, we tackled this one in a slightly different way to the kids of the show, because I don't think anyone would want to watch that really," the star added, before joking that they even used 'a lot of low lighting'.
Gemmell went on to say: "We don't die after a certain age. So, it's quite nice to kind of represent that.
"It's very lovely to see young love and love for the first time, but it's also very important and lovely to see somebody who has loved and lost and grieved and comes with a myriad of baggage, because everyone can identify with that, and I think that's important to show."
