Actor Paul Mescal might be best known for playing Connell Waldron in BBC's adaptation of Sally Rooney's Normal People, but before he whipped out that silver chain and made us all fall in love with him - like all actors - he also had some slightly less groundbreaking gigs.
Believe it or not, before landing his heart-throb role, he actually starred in a sausage ad.
And honestly, we can't believe how many times we've watched this already.
Paul, 24, appears in an advert for Denny - an Irish brand that sells bacon, sausages, ham and other fresh produce.

One Normal People viewer discovered the ad online and now, hundreds of fans are calling it 'iconic'.
We've got to say, it's pretty special. In the ad, Paul can be seen sitting around the breakfast table with his mum and dad.
His dad is talking about Henry Denny (who is the founder of the company) inventing the bacon rasher and went on to explain how his sons travelled the world teaching others how to do the same.
Paul is pretending to be listening and doesn't seem that fussed. But all of a sudden, he bites into a Denny sausage and everything changes. As the slogan of the ad describes, he decides to 'seize the Denny' and go travelling himself.

He instructs his dad to "bring him the globe" before giving it a quick spin and vowing to travel to wherever his finger lands. Which turns out to be Bali!
Ballyhaunis, that is, which (you guessed it) is in Ireland. It's so cheesy but we love it.
It turns out Paul had quite the loyal fan base even before Normal People. One tweeted: "I'm proud to say I knew who @mescal_paul was before normal people: exhibit a: Denny sausages advert: That advert will always be iconic."

While another wrote: "Normally don't tweet or use Twitter at all but just want to say how amazing your acting is in #NormalPeople never heard of you before the programme then I realised you were the guy from the Denny Sausage add on TV your going to go onto big things fair play to you."
Another correctly pointed out: "If you didn't want Paul Mescal at his Denny sausages then you don't deserve him at his Normal People." LOL.

"It's funny to see Paul Mescal go from the 'Ballyhaunis' Denny Sausages ad lad in 2019, to Ireland's biggest sex symbol in 2020," wrote another.
Is there anything that man can't do? Apparently not, as we also discovered Paul sings, too.
And if you're yet to watch, you can catch a video of it here. You are welcome...
