Following accusations of cheating, Becky G's fiancé Sebastian Lletget has apologised for 'a 10 minute lapse in judgement'.
The FC Dallas footballer - who also claims he is a victim of extortion - has addressed the 'anonymous internet stalker' who he says has created a 'public social media spectacle'.
An Instagram account claims that Lletget cheated on Becky back in February while at a club with his teammates.
The person also shared alleged audio recordings from that night.
While acknowledging his 'blessings and privileges', the 30-year-old admits that 'without the love and support of Becky' he wouldn't have achieved personal and professional growth.
"Over the last several weeks, during a moment I regret deeply, a 10 minute lapse in judgement resulted in an extortion plot," Lletget wrote.
"Since this person did not get what they wanted it has now become a public social media spectacle filled with more lies than any truth and false posts aimed at the love of my life, the one person who I should never take for granted or put at risk."
He called the incident 'a wake-up call' and 'the loudest alarm of my life'.
"I know that any actions made that put us here should have never happened to begin with," Lletget continued.
"Pushing right up to the very boundaries of lines that should never be crossed only hurts me and the people I love most.
"This past week of chaos & pain has forced me to face the consequences of my actions, my fears & my lapses from the past.
"[I] have half-heartedly been participating in therapy, knowing I have deeply rooted anger and mental health issues that require the same commitment and treatment that I devote to my physical well-being.
"If I am to be the man I aspire to be, I have to do better.
"I have decided to commit myself to a mental wellness program to work on the parts of me that deeply need healing..."
The former LA Galaxy midfielder said he loves Becky 'more than anything' and that he will do 'whatever it takes to earn back the trust'.
In December, after six years of dating, the pair got engaged and the 26-year-old Latin Grammy nominee was given a gold band for an engagement ring.
"When we got together, we were very young and we've grown so much as individuals," the singer previously told E! News in February.
"We've only really brought out the best in each other, even if it's been really challenging sometimes.
"I think that's what you hope for in a partner, is someone who can be a reflection of all your greatest attributes but also the things you need to work on about yourself."
