Squid Game Creator Teases Dark Twist In Season 2

Squid Game Creator Teases Dark Twist In Season 2

Gi-hun will return in season two and "do something for the world."

Squid Game season two is officially going ahead and its creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, has teased a dark plot twist for the next instalment.

It comes after he previously opened up about what could happen in season two ahead of it being given the green light by Netflix.

Squid Game is one of Netflix’s most-watched TV series of all time and so fans are clinging on to any fresh updates about the K-drama.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Dong-hyuk said the show’s main character Gi-hun (Lee Jung-Jae), who of course [spoiler alert] won the game at the end of season one, might have to make a decision between good and evil. He said that Gi-hun could go through a similar transformation to the Front Man, who we learn in season one is a previous winner of the game.

“[He was] also a past winner but became a Front Man, it’s like Darth Vader,” said Dong-hyuk. “Some end up Jedi and some become Darth Vader, right?”

“I think that maybe Gi-hun will go through a certain critical point where he is put through a test as well,” he added.

Lee Jung-Jae then teased: “If I had to be a Front Man, I would be the most scary Front Man you would ever see.”

Dong-hyuk previously told Associated Press that “Gi-Hun will come back, and he will do something for the world,” but by the looks of this latest teaser, it may not be a straightforward as we think.
