Netflix has been providing us with a whole range of top-tier viewing material as of late and it's clear the bangers from the beloved crime-thriller genres don't seem to be drying up anytime soon.

From the eerie real-life stalker series Baby Reindeer and the true story of the murder behind What Jennifer Did to the dark thriller with a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score being hailed as the 'best show' fans have seen - we've had a great selection of bits to binge on.

So, I'm sure armchair critics will be beyond buzzing to find out an extremely tense crime-thriller from the mind behind Euphoria starring Suki Waterhouse has finally landed on Netflix.

The plot of the crime-thriller, which first hit cinemas some years back in 2018, is set in Salem, US.

It follows four friends who fight to survive after a malicious hacker exposes everyone's secrets on the internet, causing their town to descend into chaos.

Boasting a pretty star-studded cast, the film stars the likes of Odessa Young, Bella Thorne, Maude Apatow, Hari Nef, Abra, Bill Skarsgård and Joel McHale alongside Waterhouse.

The satirical black comedy horror is none other than Assassination Nation, written and directed by Euphoria's Sam Levinson. Check out the trailer here:

It's clear people are still really loving the film, even though it's over half a decade old now, with many taking to social media to share their praise.

One X user penned: "Assassination Nation hive rise up!!!"

A second added: "Assassination Nation, crazy movie, phone culture is bananas, glad I grew up before they came out, people are far too glued to them now."

"Assassination Nation is one crazy film," echoed a third. "It touches on literally every major topic of the day with a touch of ultra violence to boot."

And it's not just the people at home who are loving it as the flick has received some decent reviews since its release.

The Guardian says: "Assassination Nation has got a little of the teen satire of Heathers, and there’s a sense memory of 90s-00s suburban pictures such as Election, American Beauty and Ghost World.”

"Assassination Nation is a blistering yet effective exaggeration of our real-life dystopia," writes Polygon, while Sight & Sound gushed: "It is a vibrant – and increasingly violent – coming-of-age story unfolding along the perilous fault lines of America’s culture wars, where, with borders closing, new lines must be drawn."
