Season one of the British legal drama first hit our screens back in 2021 stars the likes of Tracy Ifeachor, Céline Buckens and Abra Thompson.

The plot follows Talitha Campbell (Buckens), the arrogant and uppity daughter of a wealthy entrepreneur who ends up getting arrested following the mysterious disappearance of fellow student, Hannah Ellis (Thompson), who seems to be her exact opposite - a hard-working daughter of a single mother.

The series follows the events that unfold from Talitha's arrest to the jury's final verdict, switching between both sides of the tense legal battle.

Plus, the first season was only five episodes - making it perfect for devouring in a single sitting.

The series is none other than Showtrial, created by Ben Richards, and it's clearly gone down a total treat with viewers. Check out the trailer here:

One X user penned: "Big fan of Showtrial on BBC. The star is a bratty, love-to-hate lead character, but there are plenty of brilliant performances.

"Same producers as Vigil and Line of Duty - loads of twists and actually pretty funny, as much as a murder drama can be."

A second quipped: "BBC’s Showtrial is brilliant and beautiful and such shining proof that female characters don’t have to be likeable for us to love them."

"Has anyone else watched Showtrial on BBC1? ... If not you need too... So so good!" urged a third while a fourth gushed: "Wicked writing and a nice pace with many plot twists, lovely score and a great cast."

A fifth revealed: "Just binge watched Showtrial - hence this tweet at 00.42am excellent drama, great job!"
