And Just Like That: New SATC Character Has A Connection To Samantha After Fans Spot Season 2 Appearance

OG Sex And The City fans have noticed that a new character in the most recent episode of And Just Like That has actually featured on the show before.

Eagle eyed fans spotted the actor who plays Seema's dad, Ajay Mehta, also appeared in the original series, way back in season two.

Back then, Ajay played a waiter, who offered to 'go home' with Samantha after she was stood up on a date. In the end, they didn't go home together, but they did share a kiss.

Instagram account, @everyoutfitonsatc, posted about Ajay's appearance in the new series, writing: "And just like that… I realized that the busboy that Samantha kissed in S2/EP4 is now Seema’s dad 🤯."

And while some fans were shocked, others said they 'knew immediately'.

One wrote: "I KNEW he looked familiar from a previous ep!!!!!!!!!"

While another said: "Did the casting and producers not realise that us #SATC super fans would notice that who they had play Seema’s dad in #AndJustLikeThat played a busboy that hit on Samantha in the original series?"

And a third added: "OMG! Seema’s dad is the BUSBOY from SatC S.2E.4 who offers to go home with Samantha! C’mon casting! Real fans know this sh**!!"

And a fourth added: "Did you notice that Seema's dad is played by the same actor who was the busboy that kissed Samantha in Season 2? Did Samantha kiss Seema's dad???"

Meanwhile, Cynthia Nixon - who plays Miranda - also commented on the post, writing: "Good eye!"

Another asked: "Intentional or are they trying to pull a Justin Theroux on us again?!"

Fans might remember that Justin Theroux appeared twice in the original series - as two different characters. The first time he made an appearance was as Jared in season one. Carrie meets Jared through Stanford, and later bumps into him at a party, after realising Mr Big is dating other women.

Justin later appears in the following season as Vaughn Wysel. Carrie and Vaughn start dating, and while Carrie grows particularly close to his family, the pair end up splitting due to Vaughn's emotional and physical difficulties in the bedroom.
