Peter Andre Addresses Luca Bish's 'Stupid' Comment About Mark Wright

Peter Andre is having none of Luca.

Peter Andre has hit out at Love Island runner-up Luca Bish for the 'stupid' comments he made about TV personality Mark Wright during the show.

Before the 23-year-old left the villa with Gemma Owen, 19, on his arm, Luca sparked some controversy when he suggested that Mark Wright was 'punching' with Michelle Keegan.

Likely at a loose end after a long day of filming, Luca had asked fellow islander Adam Collard if he thought the former TOWIE star was "good looking', before deciding: "Oh he's punching big time."

Since the series wrapped, Peter Andre has spoken out about Luca's 'stupid' comment, and called out the fishmonger for his unprovoked attack on Mark.

Discussing the incident on his OK! column, Peter wrote: "Love Island star Luca Bish recently claimed Mark Wright is 'punching' with his wife Michelle.

“A bit harsh if you ask me. Mark is a good looking fella. Together he and Michelle make a great looking couple."

He continued: “I’m not sure why Luca said that, but hey we all say stupid things. People tell me all the time that I’m punching with Emily.

"I don't mind as I think it's a compliment. I love it and let's be honest she is a beauty."

After the Love Island episode aired last week, Mark himself also responded to Luca's savage dig.

Posting a selfie from his bed to Twitter, he wrote: "8:30am in Sydney…. Minding my own business (literally sleeping) Waking up like, What did I do? #Luca."

Later in the same episode, Luca got a taste of his own medicine when his fellow Islanders told him that he was punching in his relationship with Gemma - a suggestion that seriously got his back up.

When Paige Thorne told Luca that he was punching above his weight with Gemma, he snapped: "No, I'm f***ing not."

But Paige refused to back down, insisting: "You need to be realistic. You are punching as Gemma is unreal."

Despite sparking any number of controversies during his time on the show, Luca ended up coming in second place alongside Gemma Owen in this year's Love Island series.

The couple lost the top spot to fan-favourites Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti.

Now that they're out of the villa for good, the couple are planning to make things official between them - but not before Gemma gets the seal of approval from her parents.

After that, the pair are already talking about moving in together, with Luca claiming he is more than ready to say goodbye to Brighton and move to Chester.

Fans will get to hear an update from all of the Love Island couples this weekend when the 2022 series reunion airs.

The Love Island 2022 Reunion airs at 9pm on Sunday, 7 August on ITV2.
