Love Island Fans Think 'God Is Real' After Ekin-Su And Davide Win

Ekin-Su and Davide might not have had the easiest Love Island journey, but they have come out on top and been crowned the winners of the 2022 season.

The news was announced during tonight's live finale that saw Gemma and Luca come in second place and Indiyah and Dami place third. Watch below:

Social media users were quick to celebrate the win, with one gushing: "GOD IS REAL!!!!!!"

A second viewer praised: "ekin su and davide deserve this 50k as a fee for their entertainment alone [sic]."

"A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO MUM AND DAD for not only winning the show but for winning our hearts," wrote a third. "I love them so much. AHHHHHHH IM SO EXCITED for Ekin-Su & Davide. Well deserved [sic]."

"I'm SO excited to watch Ekin-Su & Davide's careers / lives flourish. I feel like a proud child," celebrated a fourth before adding: "mom & dad [sic]."

Meanwhile, a fifth used the pair's victory to argue that we need older contestants in future seasons.

They wrote: "Ekin-Su & Davide are proof that we want to see islanders over the age of 25 fall in love too pls [sic]."

A sixth fan pointed out the reaction to the announcement of the winners compared to the runners up.

They asked: "Did anyone else notice the cheers for Ekin-Su & Davide versus the virtual silence when Laura called out Gemma & Luca's names after [sic]."

As the news was welcomed by so many, some complained that the show should have lasted a little longer so that viewers could spend longer with the islanders.

One wrote: "So glad Ekin-Su & Davide won but what was up with that anticlimactic ending? Winners announced then boom, over.

"I wanted to enjoy it more-see Luca squirm, cash split/steal & a final interview! We were robbed of all that just so they could do that stupid celeb montage!"

Ekin-Su and Davide's love story was far from a simple one, and the pair got together before Ekin-Su's head turned for newcomer Jay.

This resulted in hilarious scenes of Ekin-Su and Davide sneaking around together on the terrace before Davide called her a 'liar and an actress' - resulting in a lot of memes.

But they managed to find their way back to each other and by the end of the show admitted that they were in love!
