MAFS UK Fans In Tears As Contestant Opens Up On Heart-Breaking Past

Amy lost her twins babies due to complications in the womb.

It was an emotional Married At First Sight UK on Thursday night, after Amy Christopher spoke candidly about her difficult past.

The 34-year-old was set to get wed to Josh Christie, who she hadn’t met until the pair got down the aisle.

The big day made her think about the past, seeing Amy well up as she documented her relationship history.

Describing the heartbreak she felt when her fiancé abruptly left her, the former glamour model revealed she found love soon after with someone new.

However, when that relationship ended, Amy was stunned to discover she was pregnant with twins.

"One died, and I had to medically terminate the other one due to complications,” she said.

“That absolutely broke me. The two things I want is marriage and babies and I was so close to having both of those things and it didn’t work out.

"For me the last straw was my mum having a stroke and she nearly died, that was a big eye opener and made me realise as an only child, when my mum goes, who do I have? I want that support system.”

Viewers took to Twitter to share their support for Amy, with many hoping the marriage to Josh works out for her.

“Amy began with a list of requirements, but end of the day she's been through a lot and deserves some happiness, and I hope she finds it,” one person said.

A second added: “Aww Amy!” alongside a number of crying emojis.

“My heart has just broken for Amy she deserves so much good,” a third said, while a fourth chipped in: “My heart breaks for Amy.”

However, people aren’t convinced over Josh’s intentions, with many questioning their compatibility.

“I think the idea of getting married and then actually getting married are two different things,” he said. “Amy’s into me and she’s a beautiful girl. I’m not into the whole spiritual thing though. If I don’t really connect to her and that whole side, I don’t think this could work.”

Fingers crossed Amy gets the happy ending she deserves.

MAFS UK continues Mondays to Thursdays at 9pm on Channel 4.
