Love Island Fans Say Hugo Just Proved He 'Doesn't Understand Show's Format'

Love Island viewers are convinced Hugo doesn't understand the show's format after he friend zoned AJ and suggested she crack on with Danny.

Love Island viewers are convinced Hugo Hammond doesn't understand the show's format after last night's episode.

You can watch the video of that awkward moment below:

Last night, Hugo friend-zoned AJ Bunker and suggested she crack on with Danny Bibby instead.

After previously friend-zoning Sharon Gaffka twice - and now telling AJ they would be better off as mates, viewers starting to lose their rag with the PE teacher.

One wrote: "Hugo shud have replaced Teddy tbh..mans just there for friendship couples and a holiday (sic)."

While another said: "Hugo does understand what the point in the show is right?"

And a third added: "Does Hugo realise he’s on Love Island. He is so arrogant and condescending. Do not understand why people like him."

Yikes!

Hugo said he wasn't feeling it (

In the clip, Hugo explains: "At the beginning there was something I couldn't quite put my finger on it. And I thought the more we got to know each other and the more time we spent together, I might be able to figure out what it was. But at the minute I just think that you and I are better off as friends on that front.

"I genuinely think you and Danny could have something really great I think you guys bounce off each other. It would be rude of me and wrong of me to float through this and kind of take it slow when I'm not 100 per cent into it."

Later, AJ added: "The fact Hugo was pushing me to go towards Danny just clarifies that he really wasn't feeling it with me. Little bit shocked but at the same time if he liked me he would have made a bit more effort with me."

AJ seemed disappointed at the chat (

And shortly after Hugo and AJ's chat, AJ and Danny ended up sharing a kiss!

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm tonight...
