Fans share conspiracy theory Chandler and Monica moved into the Home Alone house in Friends

There's some pretty compelling evidence behind the theory

Fans are sharing a bizarre conspiracy theory that Chandler and Monica moved into the McCallisters' house from Home Alone.

Before you scoff, there's some fairly compelling evidence this might actually be true. Take a look below:

This theory is that Chandler and Monica moved into the house from Home Alone, as when we get to see the place in Friends it looks very similar to the home we saw in the classic Christmas movie.

Some Friends fans had theorised for a while that the Bings had moved into the McCallisters' old house, and now that theory has got some real weight behind it.

Production company 22 Vision pointed out some key clues which explained the whole thing.

Chandler even points to the wreath across the street.

Footage from a Friends episode where we were inside Chandler and Monica's house gives viewers a chance to look across the street towards a house across the street with a distinctive garage door.

The door looks exactly like one from a house on Kevin McCallister's street in Home Alone, which would be pretty good evidence all by itself.

But wait, there's more, as peeking out through the windows you can see right across the road from the Bing household is a home with a wreath on the door.

This exact same door with the wreath on it is right across the street from the iconic Home Alone house, which viewers can spot when Kevin sledges out of his front door and into the street.

People were stunned to have this fan theory finally confirmed, and 22 Vision think they know the reason behind the similarities.

According to them, the Friends production team used stock footage from Home Alone to portray what was going on through the house windows and hoped nobody would notice the similarities.

That wreath is on the house across the road from Kevin in Home Alone.

The famous Home Alone house is actually a real house, and at the time they were filming the iconic Christmas movie there was a family living in it, though they stayed upstairs during filming to keep out of the way.

The home was used for exterior shots of the house and quite a few indoor locations too, though it lost Kevin's backyard treehouse shortly after filming on Home Alone wrapped up.

People actually ended up being able to book the chance to stay in the home themselves after it got listed on Airbnb.

Now Friends fans with a taste for conspiracy theories can dedicate themselves to cracking other major mysteries about the show, like figuring out exactly who Phoebe's third bridesmaid was.
