Death To 2021: Viewers Can't Believe How Old Hugh Grant Is Now

Death To 2021: Viewers Can't Believe How Old Hugh Grant Is Now

He's still a total heartthrob.

Viewers who have tuned in to Netflix's Death To 2021 can't believe how different Hugh Grant looks as his character Tennyson Foss, admitting he didn't exactly look like their dreamy Notting Hill bookstore owner anymore.

In the new satirical round-up of the year, Hugh portrays a snobbish historian, desperate to stay relevant despite his clearly outdated views.

While the actor is made to look quite a bit older for the mockumentary, fans couldn't help but comment on how much he had changed - especially after re-watching Love Actually for the millionth time over the holidays!

For the character of Tennyson Foss, Hugh looks rather stuffy in his bland suit and poppy-covered tie, with a white tuft of hair replacing his iconic - though greying - locks.

Some were taken aback when he first appeared on camera, refusing to unsee him as Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones or Alex Fletcher in Music & Lyrics.

One viewer tweeted: "I really don't want to age shame because I actually feel old looking at Hugh Grant in #DeathTo2021 because my God I remember him being a stud in his day... now he looks like Dominick Dunne."

Another remarked: "Hugh Grant looks so old now, how long has it been since Music & Lyrics when he paired up with Drew Barrymore?"

A third wrote of his character: "Hugh Grant has successfully transitioned from 90s heartthrob to grumpy old Brit. I love eeet."

Of course, Hugh Grant is still as handsome as he ever was, having only recently appeared in the likes of The Undoing and Paddington 2 looking much more like himself.

Despite the shocking transition, fans seemed convinced that the 61-year-old was ageing like a fine wine and couldn't deny that Hugh's character in Death to 2021 absolutely stole the show.

"Hugh Grant wins my heart once again! Omg #DeathTo2021", commented one viewer.

"#Deathto2021 is spectacular - particularly @HackedOffHugh who just gets better and better" added another.

Hugh's co-stars in Death to 2021 were also spectacular in the black comedy special. Most notable names included Joe Keery (Stranger Things), Lucy Liu, Tracey Ullman, Stockard Channing, Cristin Milloti, and Diane Morgan - each offering their own hilarious takes on a year we hope we never want to relive.
