When it comes to toast and exactly how brown it should be, people have a lot of opinions.
There truly is a divide in society between the people who like a piece of toast singed to within an inch of its life, those who like theirs so pale it might as well still be bread and those who eat theirs perfectly crispy and lightly browned.
(Can you tell which side we're on?)

And Joe Wicks reignited the age old argument on his Instagram on Monday when he shared a graphic depicting 16 pieces of toast, each different levels of toast-iness, and asked his followers which they would pick.
Number one was burnt to a crisp and the toast got progressively lighter from there, until number 16, which looked practically untouched.

"Let's settle this great debate. I'm a 14 all day long kinda guy. You?," the nation's PE teacher wrote.
And from then on, the comments started rolling in.
"This might cause controversy but I'm 16," one of Joe's followers wrote.
To which Joe replied: "Emily we need to talk."

Another follower wrote: "15 but left in the toaster to go cold (but still have crunch)".
But others were not convinced: "What is wrong with you?," someone quipped back in response.
Overall, it seemed like the lightly browned number 11 took the biscuit, with the majority of Joe's followers, including John Terry and Davina McCall, picking it as their favourite.

Some people didn't quite see their chosen colour in the snap, and tried to find a loop-hole.
"As a maths teacher, can I pick 13.5?," one wrote.
Of course, others used the post as an opportunity to mock their pals' cooking skills, too.
"Your'e 1," someone wrote alongside a laughing emoji, tagging their pal in the comment.

As they jokingly hit back: "Yeap!!! You're 17!!" Burn.
We don't know about you, but this debate has made us a little bit peckish!
