Cardi B’s Met Gala Dress Took 35 People And More Than 2,000 Hours To Create

Cardi B isn't one to slink into any social event wearing a simple LBD, so it was no surprise the rapper took the Met Gala 2019's 'Camp: Notes on Fashion' theme to the extreme - and boy did she.

On Monday night, the 26-year-old stepped on to the grand staircase of The Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a floor-length oxblood red gown custom-made by Thom Browne.

The gown featured an IMMENSE train that was so big Cardi had to assisted by five men as she made her way up the stairs - and it made for an epic photo.

According to Vogue, the dress - made from tulle, silk organza and down - was decorated with 30,000 burnt and dyed coque feathers, and took 35 people more than 2,000 hours to make. Only the best for Cardi B, right?

The 'Bodak Yellow' star finished her look with a matching headdress designed by Browne in collaboration with British milliner Stephen Jones.

The man behind the dress told Vogue: "I designed this dress for Cardi specifically because she has the ultimate beauty in a woman's body, and that is what the dress is about for me: taking advantage of that beauty."

While Cardi's dress was definitely one in a million, it didn't stop people from making some hilarious comparisons:

It was Cardi's second Met Gala with last year's 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination' see Cardi don a custom Moschino dress which was dripping in pearls.

Monday night saw the cream of the celeb crop pull out all the stops for the annual event. It seems Lady Gaga's stylist had to put in the hours more than any as the singer changed into a total of four different outfits for the pink carpet.
