People are ‘obsessed’ with pink Nike trainers that look ‘just like ballet shoes’

The classic style has been revamped and shoppers can't get enough of them.

Colourful trainers are all the rage at the moment, as more of us make a statement with our footwear. And one pair in particular has shoppers ‘obsessed.’

Priced at £79.99 and available from a UK size 2.5 all the way up to a UK 14, the Nike Cortez Textile Shoes come in so many fun colour combinations. From a vibrant aquamarine with a yellow tick, to a deep burgundy with navy blue detailing, it’s the pink and red pair that have really captured the attention of shoppers, with one fan even saying that they get ‘ballet shoe vibes,’ from them. And we have to agree.

The pink and red colourway has been a big hit with shoppers.

They also remind us of Valentine’s Day in the very best way. So, whether you’re looking for the perfect pair for date night or want a pair to bring a bit of colour to your everyday outfits, people can’t get enough of these trainers.

But what makes them such a show-stopper? And do they live up to the hype and fun aesthetic?

What makes them unique?

Even though they are currently on-trend, the original Nike Cortez trainer was first released back in 1972. Which is why you might get a bit of a vintage feel from the re-imagined pair.

Whether you were a fan back in the day or are looking for a fresh pair of kicks, the revamped style has a wider toe area and firmer side panels to make them more comfortable to wear. Plus, midsole foam combined with a wedge insert provides even more cushioning.

And if the pink and red pair – or the other existing colourways – aren’t to your taste, you can actually design your very own pair, for an additional fee. The fully customisable option, which allows you to choose everything from the colour of the laces and the sole, to whether you’d prefer for them to be made from suede or nylon or even personalised with your initials, costs £119.99.

They're also available in a range of other fun colours or can be fully customised to your exact specifications.

What are shoppers saying?

One happy shopper took to the Nike website to say: “Bought these for my partner and she absolutely loves them. The picture doesn't do the colour of the shoes justice. She said that they're super comfy aswell.”

While a second shared: “I absolutely love it … very comfortable and true to the size.”

And digital creator @catlpatterson took to Instagram to say, “these Nike Cortez trainers will add a touch of cute to any outfit and are giving Balletcore vibes don’t you think?”

The specific pink and red colourway of Nike Cortez Textile Shoes are available directly from nike.com.
