Heritage shoe brand Clarks has launched a first-of-its kind trainer - and it's not what you'd expect from the high street stalwart.
The dedicated performance trainer has been brought out to celebrate the store's 200th anniversary.
But unlike other legacy brands, the British footwear giant isn’t releasing a runner; instead it's a launched a high-performance shoe designed specifically for walking (exactly the kind of exercise we can get behind tbh).

The shoe in question has a slick designer look, a thick bouncy sole, and is designed to seamlessly slot into your activewear shoe rotation.

The sleek silhouette comes in a range of colourways to suit every style, including: Black, White and Lime Green Combi, as well as Navy Blue, Grey, Dusty Rose Pink, Black & White, Aqua Combi and Sand Combi.
The sports shoe has also been given the green light by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), with experts considering the shoe beneficial for overall foot health.

The trainer is built from breathable knit materials, keeping you comfy and supported whilst you pound pavements and train for your fitness goals.
Its dual-layer C360 foam sole is embedded with Infinity Energy Capsules, engineered to compress and rebound with each step you take.
With research showing over half of Brits walk for fitness each week, the 'Pace' trainer has been specifically enhanced with an S-Curve moulded heel that protects the Achilles tendon during heel strike.
The dedicated walking shoe promises to reduce impact and stabilise every stride (no break-in period necessary).
A spokesperson for Clarks said: “Walking for fitness is on the rise, yet many people are still wearing shoes created for running; which means they’re not getting the right support for how their body actually moves.”

They added: “[The trainer] is built specifically for walking, with a science-backed design that supports your feet and gives you more energy in every stride, helping you walk further, for longer.”
Trainers come with a fitness challenge
