Nothing gets the office talking faster than a designer dupe and Marks and Spencer has only gone and done it again - just in time for Christmas.

The Black Friday sales may be over, but eagle-eyed shoppers have spotted a high street coat that’s £735 cheaper than the coveted original and they're rushing to get their hands on it.

With lots of five-star reviews online, the winter jacket in question has been likened to a luxury Toteme number that is currently retailing for £810 on the Net-A-Porter website.

“Love this stylish and cheaper alternative to the Toteme coat," one five-star review reads. "The material is lovely and cosy and really keeps me warm. The scarf ups the warmth factor but is also very convenient being detached although there is an option to remove.”

A second shopper added: “Such a beautiful coat, not too thick or heavy. Very stylish, such a great dupe too. Perfect fit.”

Another said they’ve received lots of compliments since investing in the jacket. “Am aware of the cost of the designer version so this is a fantastic option!” they said. “Looks great - getting compliments and feels warm and cosy. It will be lovely when it's a bit colder.”

Why do people love the M&S dupe coat?

Like with any fashion trend, word soon broke on TikTok with shoppers 'rushing to their local M&S first thing in the morning' to secure one. But what have customers been saying about the viral jacket?

The M&S Wrap Coat offers a two-in-one solution this winter with a cosy detachable scarf for versatile styling options. It comes in classic monochrome with a round neckline, contrast trims, and dainty buttons.

Sound familiar? Yes, it’s been widely likened to the Toteme Draped Fringed Jacket which is £810 on the Net-A-Porter website.

Both jackets feature a built-in scarf, striking tassels, and large pockets. The only real difference? The colour. The Toteme jacket comes in three hues: camel, black, and grey. Meanwhile, the M&S jacket is only available in black with white accents.

Of course, the biggest draw is its price tag with one shopper writing: “I purchased the jacket because I saw a very similar designer one for sale and this one was only a tenth of the price. It’s very good quality as well.” Another agreed, as they added: "Toteme at a fraction of the price."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Where to buy the dupe winter coat before it sells out

You can now buy the dupe winter coat for £75 on the M&S website. It’s available in extra small, small, medium, and large. If you’re keen, make sure to hurry. We recently covered the Ganni designer leopard print dress dupe, and like any budget doppelganger, it sold out instantly.
