A men’s aftershave that 'smells like salt' has proven so popular, women are nicking it from their boyfriends' cupboards.

Just weeks after launching, the fragrance has won over a legion of fans, with shoppers saying they've 'never had so many compliments'.

The cult scent is described as a ‘woody' fragrance with hints of spicy ginger, seaweed and salt.

It’s made with 95% natural ingredients and is housed in a chic bottle that will look great on the bathroom shelf.

As for the reviews? They speak for themselves, with shoppers saying the aftershave is in fact more of a unisex scent.

“I'm a woman and happened to be recommended this perfume at a perfume counter,” one fan wrote. “The initial recommendation was for a partner, but as soon as I smelt it I definitely thought it could be unisex. I love the fresh, salty smell. Safe to say I cannot get enough of this scent.”

Another agreed, adding: “A subtle unisex fragrance, perfect for everyday wear. The salty and mineral notes give it a fresh, clean aura, without being overpowering.”

A third shopper said they’ve never been complimented so much: “Very clean-smelling. I got compliments from two coworkers who never say anything unprompted.” There you go.

What is the popular aftershave?

The aftershave in question is the Issey Miyake Le Sel D'Issey Eau De Toilette. In the short few months after its debut, it has made an undeniable impact, with women rushing to buy it for their partners (read: themselves).

According to the designer brand, the fragrance is 'inspired by salt' and has been described as 'earthy' and 'woody' by proud wearers.

If you need any further persuasion, the aftershave is vegan-certified, comes in refillable packaging, and can be purchased in three sizes: 50ml, 100ml, and 150ml. The only problem? It's highly likely to sell out.

Where can I buy the Issey Miyake aftershave?

The widely coveted Issey Miyake Le Sel D'Issey Eau De Toilette is currently on offer on LookFantastic, reduced from £101 to £80.80. A smaller 50ml bottle will cost just £57.60.

It's recommended that you apply the fragrance to pulse points such as the neck, wrists, and crease of the elbows for maximum longevity (and maximum compliments). Catch you at the checkout?
