We all know that trends move in cycles - and it's no different for baby names.
Like cropped T-shirts and low-rise jeans, what was popular decades ago can firmly make a comeback, even if it was cast aside for a long time.
Experts have noticed a rise in monikers that were common in the Boomer era, between the 1940s and 60s, creeping back in, years later, in 2026.
There's no doubt that choosing your little one's moniker is a huge decision, with some parents opting for new and unique names and others preferring a more traditional choice.

Somewhere in the middle, is vintage names, with a lot of mum and dads-to-be turning to the past for inspiration on what to to name their little one.
As reported by The Express, in their book Beyond Jennifer & Jason, Nameberry explained something called the '100 Year Rule'.
This outlines how baby names typically come back into style about a century later, but some are rising in the ranks much faster, such as monikers like Robin, Bonnie, and Lenny.

And now, as you'll probably have noticed, they aren't the only older 'Baby Boomer' names that are coming back into fashion.
The girls' name at the top of the list is Betsy, with others like Judith, Nancy, and Gloria also set to become popular again, as are Darla, Joni, and Patty.
As for boys' names, you might take inspiration from older monikers like Ralph, Wes, Monty, and Wayne.
It comes after baby name expert and celebrity name consultant SJ Strum, spoke to Tyla about the names that are set to dwindle in 2026.
She explained, "Normcore Names that you would have heard in many classrooms have gone out of style."
For context, 'normcore' is simply a way to describe a subculture that embraces things that are simple, ordinary, or mainstream.
The names in question are Steven, Brian, Stuart, Ian, Karen, and Alexa.

The expert said: "Steven, Brian, Stuart, Ian were seen as beautiful baby names but now have dated out of the name pool as Gen Z associate them with teachers, dads and definitely not a baby."
She added: "Some female names have been cancelled in recent years - Karen will take a long time to revive and Alexa was lost to AI."
