Baby names can be influenced by all sorts of different factors - from family names, to TV show characters, and social media, there are lots that can impact the naming charts.

And while some come in and out of style over the decades, others have been dominating the top spots for years and never seem to budge.

For example, names like Olivia and Sophia are always hugely popular, as well as Noah and Oliver. Meanwhile, some names spend decades out of the top 100 before making a comeback.

According to What to Expect, vintage names from decades and centuries gone by are making a return to the top charts.

"A classic, old-fashioned baby name that was popular in decades past may strike the perfect balance between modern sensibilities and time-honored traditions," they explain.

"Vintage baby names may not be right for everyone, but it's good to know which ones are making a comeback!"

One name that has been spotted on the girls' top 100 baby names list is Josephine, after being absent from the list for over 60 years.

The name, which means 'God will add', is the feminine form of Joseph and has been on the rise since 2018.

Babycenter further explains: "After falling out of the top 100 names in 1943, Josephine is in the top 100 for the first time this century at No. 96."

So what are the most popular baby names this year?
