Prince Harry has been fiercely defended after a small detail on the suit he wore to Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday sparked major fury online.

A whole bunch of A-listers attended the famous momager's birthday bash last week, including the Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan Markle.

However, it's clear that one part of his outfit — a poppy pinned to his left lapel — sparked quite a heated debate online.

Now, for anyone not in the know, in the UK, poppies are typically worn in the lead-up to Remembrance Day on 11th November, especially during the weeks of November and around Remembrance Sunday, which is the second Sunday in November.

People choose to wear them to commemorate those who have died in wars and to show support for the armed forces community.

And, like clockwork, it didn't take long for the anti-Prince Harry brigade to rush to X to find some issue with the situation.

One X user shared that they tasked Grok, AKA Elon Musk's built-in AI chatbot on the social media platform, with explaining the alleged faux pas of Harry donning a poppy for the occasion.

They wrote: "I asked Grok, who confirmed that according to etiquette, the Remembrance Poppy should be worn only in solemn and respectful settings, avoiding frivolous ones

"Prince Harry showed up at the Kardashians' party!"

"The poppy is taking me out. You’re in LA, mate, attending a Kardashian bash??" jabbed a second, while a third sneered: "Oh and of course Prince Harry has to wear a poppy on his lapel for show."

Many others, however, pointed out that this reported etiquette isn't the case for Brits in the UK at all, with several explaining that poppies are worn during a plethora of occasions.

Additionally, fans highlighted that Harry has, in fact, served in the armed forces as well.

"I may not be Harry's biggest fan, but he served with the armed forces, and if he chooses to wear a poppy to a party, I see no issue with it," explained one defender.

"It’s perfectly acceptable to wear a poppy to a party, if around the date, which it is, and it would’ve no doubt sparked curiosity and questions, which can only be good," outlined a second.

A third noted: "British people wear them everywhere… to the pub and parties etc., it’s not just for solemn occasions."

"The entire country is wearing them all day, everywhere," echoed a fourth, while another penned: "Prince Harry is wearing the poppy correctly. The wearing of the poppy from Nov. 1 to 11 is not restricted to solemn settings: it is worn everywhere."

And a final X user highlighted: "Oh, trust and believe if he didn't wear it, he'd be front page news in the UK."
