A 'super American' detail has been spotted in Meghan Markle’s new family video, which has seriously divided opinion online.

Over the weekend (26 October), Meghan took to Instagram to share with her 4.2 million followers a video of her and her two children, Archie and Lilibet, out and about at a pumpkin patch to celebrate spooky season.

She captioned the short montage reel: "Happy Sunday [pumpkin emoji] [orange heart emoji]."

Clips featured in the video included the two children playing about the patch, a scarecrow and pumpkin carving workshops with even Prince Harry getting involved.

However, one clip in particular seemed to send some royalists west as it featured a wide-angle shot of the pumpkin patch, where you can see a Shell petrol station sign in the background.

After catching light of the snap, the untiring and ever-relentless anti-Meghan Markle brigade came out in full force to slam the mum of two for what they reckoned was an ill-chosen pumpkin patch to visit.

"Oooh yes, super glamorous. Stood in a field by a Shell petrol station," jabbed one very disgruntled X user.

A second snarled: "Love the Shell station in the background. Oh, how the mighty have fallen."

"Not a farm, but a lot off the highway next to a Shell gas station," hit out a third while a fourth chimed in: "Ye Olde Pumpkin Patch. Just behind the Shell station."

A fifth slammed: "The Shell station sign in the background just adds that extra soupçon of seasonal magic."

And a sixth critic echoed: "In the shadow of a Shell station, no less. Poor old H. Hope it was worth it!"

Fortunately, not everyone online was sent into an absolute meltdown following the seemingly innocuous pumpkin patch video, as many social media users rushed in to point out that the Shell station cameo was actually 'so relatable' and 'super American'.

"Meghan is living her best Pinterest life and I’m here for it," praised one Reddit user.

A second penned: "The Shell gas station sign in the background is so relatable haha."

"This was my exact thought, they just like us for real lol. Something super American about this," chirped a third.

Another pointed out: "Pumpkin patches are right off the highway. All of them. Off all of the highways."

And a final Reddit user confirmed: "Lol I can confirm; I pass the pumpkin patches on the highway in that area."
