New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has revealed the strangest thing he found in Donald Trump's office.

For those not in the loop, the Democratic socialist made history in a number of ways earlier this month when he was elected mayor of the Big Apple.

He became the city's first Muslim mayor, the first of South Asian heritage, and the first born in Africa, as well as becoming the first Millennial to take on the role, with his wife Rama Duwaji also becoming NYC's first-ever Gen Z first lady at 28.

It's no secret that Mamdani and Trump aren't exactly the best of pals, with the mayor-elect, who's set to take office in January, previously describing himself as 'Donald Trump's worst nightmare'.

Meanwhile, Trump has dubbed Mamdani an '100% Communist lunatic' and a 'total nut job'.

However, they seemed to put their political differences aside on Friday (21 November) when they met in the Oval Office face-to-face for the first time since Mamdani was voted in.

The meeting went surprisingly well as they chose to focus more on their shared goals rather than their differences.

The two were pictured smiling next to each other and Trump told reporters: "We’re going to be helping him, to make everybody’s dream come true, having a strong and very safe New York."

And now, Mamdani has dished the tea on his White House visit and shared the 'weirdest' thing he spotted during the visit in an appearance on The Adam Friedland Show today (26 November).

Now, we know President Trump is a big fan of gold and has also made an array of controversial renovation and design changes to the presidential building.

But the item in question was actually to do with sport - specifically UFC.

As per The Independent, Mamdani was met with 'all these different coffee table books' spread out across the furniture when he stepped into the Oval Office.

He continued: "One of them is ‘UFC at the White House,'" admitting that he previously had 'no idea' about the unexpected mixed martial arts event the president is intending to stage on the South Lawn in June next year to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the USA.

"I was just flipping through that," Mamdani said, explaining that essentially, it was just a file of concept art for what the arena might look like once it is erected at at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, including a octagon-shaped cage.

If you have no idea what we're talking about - yes, this is real.

The fight is due to take place next year to mark 250 years since America’s independence.

The Republican leader become a regular at UFC events and has become close friends with the CEO and President of UFC, Dana White.

On 4 July, Trump announced: "We’re going to have a UFC fight – think of this – on the grounds of the White House."

He added: "We have a lot of land there. We are going to build a little – we are not, Dana is going to do it … We are going to have a UFC fight, championship fight, full fight, like 20-25,000 people, and we are going to do that as part of 250 also."
