Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy fired shots at an American reporter yesterday who previously came for his fashion sense.

The politician was joined by a number of fellow European leaders at the White House to meet with Donald Trump on Monday (18 August), following the American's meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin over the weekend.

The US leader met with his Russian counterpart in Anchorage, Alaska, on Friday (14 August) to discuss a possible end to Putin's ongoing invasion of Ukraine, which sadly resulted in a 'no-deal' agreement.

Alongside the likes of French president Emmanuel Macron, British prime minister Sir Keir Starmer, German chancellor Friedrich Merz, Finnish president Alexander Stubb and Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni, Zelenskyy heard Trump's plan going forward.

The Ukrainian then joined 79-year-old Trump in the Oval Office for a news conference, where the pair were quizzed by reporters.

It was during these questions that Brian Glenn - Chief White House Correspondent for Real America’s Voice - brought up Zelenskyy's clothing.

Glenn previously caused quite the stir earlier this year during a similar Oval Office catch-up by asking the European, who wore a jacket (previously described as 'suit-style') and a black shirt: "President Zelenskyy, do you ever, why don't you wear a suit?

"Why don't you wear a suit? You're the highest level in this country's office, and you refuse to wear a suit."

Glenn continued: "Just want to see if you, do you own a suit?"

At the time, 47-year-old Zelenskyy responded: "I will wear costume after this war will finish."

He then clapped back with: "Maybe something like yours, maybe something better. We will see, maybe something cheaper."

And after the reporter and politician were once again put face-to-face yesterday, the subject of style was unsurprisingly brought back up.

Having decided to wear a full suit for the get-together, Zelenskyy then brutally humbled the reporter. Take a look:

"First of all, President Zelenskyy, you look fabulous in that suit. You look good," Glenn began, after which Trump leaned in to tell the Ukrainian leader, 'That's the one that attacked you'.

Smiling, the European replied, 'I remember', before turning to the reporter and telling him: "You are in the same suit. I changed, you have not."

Another viral moment from yesterday's political get-together also saw Trump caught in a cringeworthy hot mic moment while discussing Putin with French president Macron.

As the group waited in the White House's East Room, the American could be seen leaning into the Frenchman. "I think he wants to make a deal," Trump uttered of Putin's plans. "I think he wants to make a deal for me.

"Do you understand? As crazy as it sounds."

Trump went on to double down on his assertion, later telling journalists of the Russian: "I’ve known him for a long time, I’ve always had a great relationship with him.

"I think President Putin wants to find an answer, too. We’ll see."
