People think Zelenskyy just made subtle dig at Trump after US President swore during rare rant about Iran and Israel

Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, and the growing impending fears of WW3, leaders from around the world gathered on Tuesday (24 June) to attend the NATO Summit’s royal dinner in the Netherlands.

In attendance was Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as United States president, Donald Trump, who were also joined by likes of French leader Emmanuel Macron and United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer, just to name a few.

Zelenskyy surprised some people online after he was seen in an all-black more formal ensemble, which was a notable departure from his wartime olive fatigues.

His more casual, usual clothing choice has sparked quite the discourse between Trump and his posse, who were called out for 'belittling' the Ukrainian back in March.

During the heated Oval Office meeting, Trump warned Zelenskyy he was 'gambling with World War III', with Vice President JD Vance slamming him for not being 'thankful' for the military support the US supposedly gave to Ukraine.

In an incredibly uncomfortable scene, chief White House correspondent for right-wing website Real America's Voice, Brian Glenn, hit out at Zelenskyy, demanding: "Why don’t you wear a suit? You’re at the highest level in this country’s office and you refuse to wear a suit."

And the barrage of questioning did not end there.

"Do you own a suit?" Glenn continued, adding: "A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the dignity of this office."

In response, Zelenskyy responded that he will 'wear a costume after this war will finish', referencing the fact he has worn an army sweatshirt and trousers since Russia invaded his country in February 2022, a response which was praised around the world.

The word costume translates from 'kostyum' - the Ukrainian word for suit.

"Maybe something like yours, maybe something better, I don’t know," Zelenskyy added. "We will see. Maybe something cheaper."

But, as we say, during yesterday's NATO dinner, Zelenskyy opted for a suit-like jacket and trousers, similar to what he wore when meeting King Charles III earlier this month (23 June), prompting a flurry of responses from people on social media.

One person even theorised that the reason behind the choice of attire was to not make Trump 'mad' after his viral outburst yesterday.

One X user penned: "Zelenskyy is wearing a suit!"

"Zelenskyy popping up in a blacked out suit was unexpected," quipped a second.

"Zelenskyy wore a suit today, because he knew Trump was already mad af..." chimed in a third, referencing Trump dropping the F-bomb live on TV yesterday (24 June) where he claimed neither Israel nor Iran 'knows what the f*ck they're doing'.

Another outlined: "It's not a suit. It's a coat or jacket that's styled similar to a suit, but it's still not a suit. President Zelenskyy isn't like Trump. He said he wouldn't wear a suit until Ukrainian victory, and he will keep his word."

"Who cares if Zelenskyy wears a suit or not," pointed out a final X user. "There’s no criticism of Trump about his attire, he’s the leader of what is considered the most powerful country in the world getting around in his suit but wearing a baseball cap with MAGA in big capital letters, most unprofessional."
