Trump’s furious statement on Epstein ‘problem’ leaves everyone asking the same question

The Republican took to Truth Social earlier today (14 November) following the release of the disturbing Epstein emails earlier this week

United States President Donald Trump's furious statement on convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has left everyone asking the same question.

His latest comments come after the House Oversight Committee's recent release this week of multiple emails sent by Epstein, who died by suicide in jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, in which he mentioned Trump several times.

Trump never received nor sent any of the emails, and he hasn't been accused of any wrongdoing. He has also continuously denied any knowledge of Epstein's alleged crimes.

Trump's comments also follow the White House's official statement on the matter and his previous response to the released emails.

The 79-year-old Republican has taken to Truth Social once again to issue yet another statement on what he's begun dubbing 'The Jeffrey Epstein Hoax'.

Writing on the social media platform earlier this afternoon, Trump seethed: "The Democrats are doing everything in their withering power to push the Epstein Hoax again, despite the DOJ releasing 50,000 pages of documents, in order to deflect from all of their bad policies and losses, especially the SHUTDOWN EMBARRASSMENT, where their party is in total disarray, and has no idea what to do."

He then took the time to directly blast fellow Republicans: "Some Weak Republicans have fallen into their clutches because they are soft and foolish."

Continuing his rant, Trump concluded: "Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat’s problem, not the Republican’s problem! Ask Bill Clinton, Reid Hoffman, and Larry Summers about Epstein, they know all about him, don’t waste your time with Trump.

"I have a Country to run!"

After catching light of the post, many people rushed online to point out the fact that Trump was actually once a registered Democrat.

"And Trump was a Democrat during much of his association with Jeffrey Epstein..." penned one X user.

A second commented: "Trump was a Democrat back in the 80s and 90s and he played both sides."

"Trump was a Democrat at the time," echoed another, while a final X user chimed in: "Wasn't Trump a Democrat?"

It's true, the Republican leader was once a registered Democrat.

Trump first registered as a Republican back in 1987, but public records show he has changed his party affiliation five times since then.

In October 1999, he switched to the Independence Party of New York. Soon after, he announced he was exploring a run for the Reform Party’s presidential nomination in the 2000 election.

At the time, the Independence Party served as the Reform Party’s New York affiliate. Just four months later, however, he dropped out of the race.

In 2001, Trump became a Democrat and stayed with the party for eight years. In a 2004 CNN interview, he said he often felt more aligned with Democrats, noting that 'in many cases' he believed the economy performed better under Democratic administrations.

"It shouldn’t be that way," he added, "but if you go back, it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats… certainly, we had some very good economies under Democrats, as well as Republicans. But we've had some pretty bad disaster under the Republicans."

Despite those comments, Trump returned to the Republican Party in 2012 and has remained a Republican ever since.
