White House issues response after Jeffrey Epstein emails mentioning Trump leak

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee shared three email exchanges dated between 2011 and 2019 mentioning the US President

The White House has issued a response after Jeffrey Epstein emails directly mentioning US President Donald Trump were released today.

Earlier this afternoon (12 November), Democrats on the House Oversight Committee shared a number of email exchanges dated between 2011 and 2019 between Epstein, his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and author Michael Wolff.

Epstein died by suicide in jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. Maxwell, meanwhile, is currently in a low-security Texas prison for her role in a sex-trafficking scheme with Epstein.

In the private emails, convicted sex offender Epstein allegedly wrote that Trump 'knew about the girls'. Trump himself did not send or receive any of the emails and has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

"Oversight Democrats have obtained new emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate that raise serious questions about Donald Trump and his knowledge of Epstein’s horrific crimes," the committee posted on social media.

"Read them for yourself. It’s time to end this cover-up and RELEASE THE FILES."

What did the emails say?

In one message to Wolff dated January 31, 2019, Epstein allegedly wrote: "Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever...of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop."

Another email from April 2011 allegedly shows Epstein telling Maxwell that Trump had 'spent hours' with a victim whose name was redacted.

"I want you to realise that the dog that hasn’t barked is Trump...[VICTIM] spent hours at my house with him...he has never once been mentioned," Epstein wrote.

Additionally, in a December 2015 exchange, Wolff and Epstein discussed Trump’s first presidential campaign.

"I think you should let him hang himself," Wolff wrote. "If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, then that gives you valuable PR and political currency."

He allegedly continued: "You can hang him in a way that potentially benefits you—or, if it looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt.

"Of course, it’s possible that, when asked, he’ll say Jeffrey is a great guy who’s gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which would be outlawed in a Trump regime."

White House's response

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has since issued a statement in response to the report.

She told LADbible Group: "The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump.

"The 'unnamed victim' referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever and 'couldn’t have been friendlier' to her in their limited interactions."

It's important to note, as we say, that the name of the victim was redacted in the emails released by Democrats.

Leavitt's statement continued: "The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre.

"These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again."

Tyla has previously reached out to the White House for comment.
