Donald Trump has hit out at Iran with a scathing threat after the new Iranian Supreme Leader issued an alarming message.

Yesterday, the new Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, issued his first statement since the country was attacked with US-Israeli weapons on 28 February.

His father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, previously served in the role, but was killed by a drone attack in the country's capital, Tehran, on the first day of the conflict. He also lost his mother, wife, and several other family members that day.

In his first official statement as the new Supreme Leader, he talked about getting 'revenge' on his enemies, said Iran would continue to block the Strait of Hormuz, and urged other countries to shut down their US bases.

Mojtaba, who did not appear on screen but had his statement read out by a news anchor, said: "I assure everyone that we will not refrain from avenging the blood of your martyrs.

"The retaliation we have in mind is not limited only to the martyrdom of the great leader of the Revolution; rather, every member of the nation who is martyred by the enemy constitutes a separate case in the file of revenge."

The Supreme Leader continued: "A limited portion of this retaliation has already taken tangible form, but until it is fully achieved, this file will remain open above other cases. We will be especially sensitive regarding the blood of our children.

"Therefore, the crime the enemy deliberately committed against the Shajareh-Tayyebeh school in Minab, and some similar cases, holds a special status in this process of accountability."

The strike that Mojtaba was referring to killed 168 people, including around 110 children. Iran claims the school was hit by a US missile; however, America has denied responsibility while it investigates.

He promised Iranians that he would 'destroy the enemy assets to the same extent' that had been done to his nation.

"One point I must emphasize is that, in any case, we will obtain compensation from the enemy. If it refuses, we will take from its assets to the extent we deem appropriate, and if that is not possible, we will destroy its assets to the same extent,” he said.

Now, US President Trump has issued a rant on Truth Social in response, declaring that America has 'unparalleled firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time'.

He wrote: "We are totally destroying the terrorist regime of Iran, militarily, economically, and otherwise, yet, if you read the Failing New York Times, you would incorrectly think that we are not winning.

"Iran’s Navy is gone, their Air Force is no longer, missiles, drones, and everything else are being decimated, and their leaders have been wiped from the face of the earth.

"We have unparalleled firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time - Watch what happens to these deranged scumbags today."

Trump raged: "They’ve been killing innocent people all over the world for 47 years, and now I, as the 47th President of the United States of America, am killing them. What a great honor it is to do so!

"Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP."

It comes as the Israeli military said it had launched a 'wide-scale wave of strikes' across Iran on Friday (13 March), targeting an aerial defense base, command centers, and an underground ballistic missile facility.

Meanwhile, Iran has launched waves of drones and missiles of its own towards Gulf countries that host US military assets.
