Just yesterday (3 July), United States president Donald Trump had his highly contentious 'One Big Beautiful Bill' passed by a razor‑thin 218–214 margin.

While MAGA heads will no doubt be thrilled by the major big tax breaks, big defence, and big border changes, it's clear others will be seriously concerned about the bill, given that its passing has come at a serious cost to the climate, social safety nets, immigration rights, and the national debt.

Amidst the avalanche of criticism for the 'One Big Beautiful Bill', it's clear the 79-year-old Republican has still been able to leave some audiences shocked after making a 'hateful' comment about anyone who 'hates' him first.

While appearing in front of a crown in Des Moines, Iowa, Trump took aim at Democrats not in favour of the controversial legislation prompting many to rush to social media to call out his infantile remarks.

During his speech, Trump called out such Democrats, telling the crowd: "They hate Trump, but I hate them too. You know that? I really can't stand them. Because I believe they hate our country."

Reacting to the now-viral moment, one X user hit out: "In a shocking moment, Trump declares that he is unable to be a President to ALL Americans, as he hates Democrats. 'They hate Trump, but I hate them too. I really do, I hate them. I can’t stand them'.

"What a small, hateful man."

A second slammed: "What is he, a 6-year-old?"

"Honestly this is as reprehensible as it gets," hit out a third, while a fourth lamented: "Imagine a sitting president telling his country he hates half of them."

A fifth critic declared: "This man is not fit or suited to be President. Sane adults in positions of authority do not talk this way. A President is elected to be president of ALL THE PEOPLE whether he 'likes' them or not."

"Trump saying he hates Democrats. Yes, the President of our country just flat out said he hates half the population. What a great way to unite us all," quipped another.

And a final person wondered: "Is it not meant to be the president's job to love all of his people and treat them all equally."

Turmp's so-called 'One Big Beautiful Bill' sees a mammoth $4.5 trillion extension of Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, which means some very hefty savings for wealthy Americans and businesses and some benefits for middle-income earners too.

Over $1 trillion has also been cut from Medicaid.

Additionally, new work requirements for food stamps and healthcare could see up to 12 million lose health coverage by 2034.

More than $45 billion is set to be used for 'infrastructure' - AKA fencing - while $100 billion will be pumped into ICE, plus funding for deportations and detention centres.

An extra $150 billion will go on military projects like the 'Golden Dome' system.

The bill adds trillions to national debt, as it could raise it by $3 to 4 trillion over the next decade, according to budget experts who say it's a short-term win with a long-term hangover.
