Elon Musk's daughter Vivian 'humiliates' him with savage ‘anti-AI’ message

Vivian Wilson stars in a daring new fashion campaign has caused quite the stir.

The 22-year-old and her father, tech billionaire Elon Musk, 55, have been estranged for years. The model, influencer and transgender activist is one of her father’s most outspoken critics.

She is now fronting a fashion campaign by Spanish fashion label Desigual, directed by PSG. Titled ‘Born to Disobey’, shows a humanoid robot named DESI 84 and it's meant to help Vivian complete everyday tasks. Instead, Vivian puts it into situations for which it has not been trained, showing the imitations of its tech. She used it as a golf tee, walks it like a dog and tries to teach it to say ‘Desigual’.

The robot malfunctions throughout, which leads to Vivian remarking: “Some things aren’t meant to be fixed.”

A press release from the brand explains that the campaign sends, ‘a clear message: the greatest rebellion is no longer about fighting against the system but about refusing to be part of it. When everything invites you to obey, the answer is attitude, irony and the freedom to be yourself.”

Vivian, who does not use her father’s surname, told PEOPLE magazine that it was important to make a clear stance on the impact of AI in the fashion industry, ‘because it takes jobs away from talented creatives while being detrimental for the environment.’

“Her roasting her dad continues to give me life,” one viewer responded.

“Hail queen Vivian,” another fan declared.

The whole campaign has been interpreted as being anti-AI.

Humanoid robots and AI have been touted as the future. Elon Musk has invested in both, notably Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot, which he believes will be a huge seller one day. His argument is that these robots will be able to perform essentially any task a human can.

Robots don’t need sleep, annual leave, or salaries, which suggests they could become a huge part of the workforce.

The plan is for Tesla Optimus bots tube powered entirely by Artificial Intelligence. In the meantime, Musk has already created the AI chatbot Grok, an AI assistant and large language model developed by SpaceXAI. Since its launch in November 2023, Grok has proven to be controversial.

It faced major backlash after it was found to be generating explicit images of women and children. Musk responded after media watchdog Ofcom launched an investigation into whether the platform had breached UK law over reports that Grok was used to create and share the sexualised images.

In a statement, Ofcom said it will investigate the platform to determine whether it 'has complied with its duties to protect people in the UK from content that is illegal'.

In response to ministers' threats to ban X, Musk accused the UK Government of trying to curb free speech, writing on his X account: "They just want to suppress free speech."

And replying to a post about why other AI platforms weren't also being investigated, he claimed that the UK government wanted 'any excuse for censorship'.

Musk had previously addressed the consequences for those using the chatbot to 'make illegal content', saying: "Anyone using Grok to make illegal content will suffer the same consequences as if they upload illegal content."
