Melania Trump has left fans shocked with her latest career move that no one saw coming.

The First Lady, 55, has had a busy few months with her husband, US president Donald Trump, 79, including giving a speech at the US navy's 250th anniversary celebration and a trip across the pond for a UK state visit.

However, her next project is quite a big step away from her usual appearances, and this time, she's taking centre stage in the spotlight.

It's also something a First Lady has never dared to do before - have you guessed it yet?

Melania is going to star in her very own Amazon documentary, aptly titled Melania, with a cinema release date set for January 30, 2026, followed by a run on Prime Video.

It's been revealed that cameras followed the First Lady for 20 days before her husband's 2025 inauguration back in January, giving a peek into Melania's world in one of the most important times of her life.

According to Deadline, the film will show how Melania handled inauguration plans and navigated the complexities of the transition into the White House, as she reentered public life with her family.

It reportedly will include never-seen-before footage critical meetings and private conversations as she stepped into the role of First Lady for the second time.

As if the documentary wasn't enough, the creators also have an additional three-part docuseries in the works , which will 'dive even deeper' and follow Melania as she travels between New York City, Palm Beach, and Washington, DC ahead of the inauguration.

The publication reports that filming began last December - just a month after Trump was elected US president for the second time - and it's being directed by Brett Ratner.

As well as her starring role, Melania is also a producer on the project and according to The Guardian, Amazon forked out $40m for the rights to the documentary.

Mentioning the career move in January on Fox&Friends, Melania said: "We started the production in November, and we are shooting right now, so it’s a day-to-day life, what I’m doing, what kind of responsibilities I have.

"It’s day-to-day, from transition team to moving to the White House, packing, establishing my team, the first lady office, moving into the White House, what it takes to make the residence your home, to hire the people that you need.”

Melania officially announced the news of a release over on Instagram today (Friday 10 October).

She simply wrote: "MELANIA, The Film, January 30, 2026, Worldwide Premiere," alongside a still of her sitting inside a car on what looks like an airport runway.

The post has already racked up more than 86,000 likes, with fans writing on Twitter: "Can't wait for the release. Hope some real life events in the movie" and "Can’t wait to see it!!"

A third added: "This is awesome and I can’t wait to watch."
