Melania Trump shares bizarre body double video and it’s sparked major theory

The First Lady of the United States shared the bizarre clip to social media on Wednesday (1 October)

Melania Trump has shared a seriously 'bizarre' body double video and it’s sparked a major theory online.

Earlier this week, the First Lady posted what seems to be an AI-generated video of herself materialising from a digital ether. Melania then blinks twice as her hair blows in the wind in what appears to be some Trump Tower–like setting.

It was originally posted by the official account of Melania’s cryptocurrency, $MELANIA, then shared by her personal X account. The short clip, posted on Wednesday (1 October), was captioned: "Into The Future."

After catching light of the post, people rushed to social media to share their confusion over the odd video.

One X user quipped: "The f*ck is happening here."

"OHHHHHHH! You personally don’t have to make appearances with (Donald) anymore if they can hologram you! Got it!" joked a second.

A third theorised: "Wow, rather than tell Donnie she has a headache, she could send him this replacement."

"Amazing, she didn’t take her husband into the future. Oh wait, I wouldn’t take him either," penned a fourth critic.

"What the hell?" penned a fifth, while another similarly asked: "What the heck is going on here?"

And a final X user added: "Bizarre."

Now, while the cryptic caption nor the video itself detailed a clear promotional message, the post did see the price of Melania's meme coin jump to seven per cent.

However, as Decrypt explains, it's lost nearly all its value since launching back in January - the same month as Trump's inauguration.

"The official Solana meme coin of Melania Trump (MELANIA) is up nearly 7% in the last 24 hours after the First Lady promoted an apparently AI-generated video of herself posted by the token’s official X account. MELANIA is now trading at $0.182, up more than 12% on the week, but still down roughly 99% from its January all-time high of $13.05. It briefly popped to a daily high of $0.191 following the first lady’s retweet," the outlet reported.

The whole 'body double' conspiracy theory has been following around Melania for quite some years now.

Prior examples include her appearance back in January for Donald Trump's inauguration raised eyebrows as well as her November appearance alongside Trump at West Palm Beach.

There was also Pope Francis' funeral in April and her June theatre outing alongside her husband - just to name a handful of instances.

And it seems like, given the social media reaction already, the 'AI hologram' post seems to only add to the speculation.

Tyla has reached out to White House representatives for comment.
