Conspiracy theorists spot ‘clue’ that Melania Trump ‘body double’ was used at Pope Francis’ funeral

Conspiracy theorists are convinced that a Melania Trump 'body double' was used at Pope Francis’ funeral.

Now, this particular theory has been floating around for quite some time now with her appearance back in January for Donald Trump's inauguration raising eyebrows as well as her November appearance alongside Trump, 78, at West Palm Beach.

And it has since been reignited following the 55-year-old First Lady's attendance at the late Pope Francis' funeral, which took place over the weekend on Saturday (26 April).

Melania and her husband were among the more than 250,000 mourners who gathered in Vatican City's St Peter’s Square to pay their respects to the late pontiff, who died aged 88 on Easter Monday (21 April).

She could be seen wearing a black blazer dress with a veil covering her face.

However, some people on social media are hellbent that the woman sitting beside Trump in Rome isn't actually Melania - and there is one major reason why.

One X user penned: "Who was the Melania lookalike with Trump at The Vatican?"

"That is not Melania. A body double. The nose and cheekbones are off," declared a second.

A third chimed in: "Body double, not Melania."

"But is it the real Melania? Could be that body double everyone is talking about..." speculated a fourth, while another piped up: "That is a body double and NOT Melania!"

And a final X user echoed: "That’s Melania’s body double."

And the reason why people think this?

Well, she was previously caught wearing flat shoes and what people reckon is an 'off-the-rack' coat stepping out of a helicopter the day before the funeral on Friday (25 April).

Call to Activism on X posted video of Melania with the caption: “What do you notice about the way Trump and Melania just walked to the helicopter today?”

"Melania never wears flat shoes either…I’m betting that this is the fake body double Melania because the real Melania did not want to have to go and stay with Trump overseas for the entire trip…" quipped one X user.

Another wrote: "Fake Melania."

And a third added: "I don't notice how they walked to the helicopter, but from the back, that is not Melania or DJT, IMO. Melania wouldn't wear an off-the-rack coat."

Alongside the Trumps, the likes of French president Emmanuel Macron, Prince William, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy were also in attendance.
