Trump administration slammed for 'lying' about Jeffrey Epstein 'client list' as FBI issues major update

Attorney General Pam Bondi has been called out on social media following the latest update in the case

Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide which some readers may find distressing.

The Trump administration has been slammed for allegedly 'lying' about Jeffrey Epstein's 'client list' as the FBI has issued a major update on the case.

In a joint memo between the Justice Department and FBI, it was confirmed that the child sex offender did not keep a supposed 'client list' comprised of various politicians, royal family members and celebrities alike who conspiracy theorists are convinced he blackmailed for influence.

The FBI also added that Epstein was not murdered during his 36-day stay at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan back in August 2019 and that he did die by suicide in his prison cell.

The two-page memo also states that no one else involved in the Epstein case will be charged, with Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell currently serving a 20-year sentence for child sex trafficking and related offences.

The new information has led many to call out Attorney General Pam Bondi, who previously vowed she would publicly release documents connected to the Epstein case.

Earlier this year in February, Bondi said that there are 'a lot of documents' related to Epstein that were sitting 'on her desk' waiting to be reviewed.

She was asked on Fox News: "The [Department of Justice] may be releasing the list of Jeffrey Epstein’s clients – will that really happen?"

Bondi said: "It’s sitting on my desk right now to review; that has been a directive by President Trump.

"I’m reviewing that, I’m reviewing JFK files, MLK files. That’s all in the process of being reviewed, because that was done at the directive of the president from all of these agencies."

She added: "Donald Trump doesn’t make empty promises. I think promises made, promises kept. And that’s why we’re all there to carry out his directive about making America safe and prosperous."

People online are now raising questions about whether or not Bondi lied based on her previous remarks, with one X user hitting out: "Pam Bondi said the Epstein client list was on her desk to review for release to the public just a few months ago. Now the DOJ she leads claims that there’s no Epstein client list.

"Sorry but this is unacceptable. Was she lying then or is she lying now? We deserve answers."

A second agreed: "Her original statement when she was instilled as the Attorney General, was that she had the list. This is not a good look as she is going back on her word."

"Why did Pam Bondi get in front of the entire nation and say she had the Epstein client list on her desk? She should step down as Attorney General for lying to the American public," declared another.

And a final X user added: "Attorney General Pam Bondi In February: Jeffrey Epstein's client list is sitting on my desk right now to review. Today, Axios reports the DOJ concluded Epstein didn't keep a client list. So...was she reviewing imaginary files?"

Tyla has reached out to the Department of Justice for comment.

Trump previously claimed his administration would release the Epstein files to the public and, during what is being dubbed their 'break-up', former DOGE spearhead Elon Musk claimed that the 79-year-old Republican was in the Epstein files himself, alleging that was 'the real reason they have not been made public'.

Musk then told people that 'the truth will come out' before deleting the social media post and later saying he went 'too far' with some of his tweets.

Trump being named in these files does not implicate wrongdoing, it must be noted, and Musk didn't offer up any evidence to support his claims.

Axios reports that the FBI's latest findings represent the first time Trump's administration has 'officially contradicted conspiracy theories about Epstein's activities and his death — theories that had been pushed by the FBI's top two officials before Trump appointed them to the bureau'.
