Everything we know about Donald Trump's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein after Elon Musk drops bombshell claim

Musk's claims about the President have caused a stir online

After Donald Trump was outed by former 'first buddy' Elon Musk for allegedly being included in the Jeffrey Epstein files during their public row online, the internet turned into chaos.

Even though Trump and Musk had been working together closely since the President began his 2024 presidency campaign, the pair began to show signs of strain within their relationship after the Tesla CEO was set to depart his DOGE government role this month.

Having made increasingly scathing comments about the POTUS online and to the press, Musk seemed to be holding a grudge against his former employer, which all led to a showdown yesterday (5 June) over Twitter and Truth Social, where the two men battled it out with their words.

However, one monumental thing was claimed, and that was that Trump’s name is in the Epstein files, which relate to the late Jeffrey Epstein's past abuse crimes against minors and women on his infamous Epstein Island.

What did Musk say about Trump?

Just one day before his major ‘bomb’ drop, Musk made pointed remarks about Trump's finances, specifically the 'big, beautiful bill' which would increase deficit by $3.8 trillion by 2034.

"I was disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not just decreases it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing," he told CBS last week. "I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful, but I don't know if it can be both. My personal opinion."

Musk once again aired his views, tweeting: "I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."

In response, Trump told attendees at the Oval Office on 5 June: "Look, you know, I've always liked Elon, and it's always very surprised you saw the words he had for me, the words and he hasn't said anything about me."

He added: "But I'm very disappointed, because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here."

Musk later responded: "False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!"

Musk’s statement on X, dropped in the middle of his row with Trump, igniting a war of the words within moments.

Musk let go of the mother of all allegations, writing on X: "Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.

"Have a nice day, DJT!"

With his single post, the Tesla billionaire immediately brought into question how Trump was associated with a man who trafficked and raped underage girls, even working with the rich and famous too (allegedly).

What do the Epstein files say about Trump?

Only a few can truly know what is said about Trump in the files, but what is known is that Trump was a friend, or at least an acquaintance, of Epstein’s for years.

The Epstein flight logs, which were released by Trump's attorney general in February of this year, include his name seven times, and show that he at least flew with the disgraced financial expert since October 1993, with Epstein's ex and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.

However, The Mirror reported that the president once commented six years before the sex offender was convicted for soliciting a minor for prostitution, that Epstein liked ‘many of them are on the younger side’.

Trump being named in the files does not imply wrongdoing on his behalf.

How did Epstein and Trump know each other?

While it’s not known just how far back the pair really go, in 1992, video footage from Mar-A-Lago show both men surrounded by young women.

Apparently, he was displaying his ‘Trump Dance’, something that he would do whilst with Epstein too.

“It was only during last year’s election campaign that the world saw Donald dance, but those at the club have seen it for years,” a Mar-A-Lago source said, as per The Mirror.

“He and Jeff would party up a storm in West Palm Beach. At times, they seemed joined at the hip… It is the exact same moves he honed back in the early 90s while partying with Jeff."

In 2002, Trump told New York Magazine that he’s a ‘terrific guy’, stating: “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do - and many of them are on the younger side.”

Former model Stacey Williams claimed in court that Trump groped her when she visited Trump Tower in 1993 while she was in a romantic relationship with Epstein, claiming: “The second he [Trump] was in front of me, he pulled me into him, and his hands were just on me and didn’t come off.

“It became very clear then that he and Donald were really, really good friends and spent a lot of time together.”

So, what happens next?

After the FBI shared they had ‘no comment’ on the claim, as per the BBC, and the White House dismissed everything Musk had shared, who knows what’s going to comes of this.
