White House slammed for ‘embarrassing’ image portraying Trump as Superman

The White House has caused quite the divide online with their latest wild social media stunt.

On Thursday (10 July) their official Twitter account shared what looks like an AI image of Donald Trump depicted as Superman, on a mock poster of the movie.

Yep, you read that right - the United States President all dressed up in a red and blue Superman costume.

The bizarre post coincides with the release of the new movie, which was released in both the US and UK today (11 July).

The exciting new superhero flick, simply titled Superman, stars David Corenswet as the titular character, alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, and a slew of other famous faces.

Jumping on the bandwagon, it looks like the White House decided to make their own version of the movie’s poster, starring none other than the US President himself.

In the image, which could be either AI or genuine artwork, Trump’s face has been merged onto that of the hero.

In all caps, the text reads: "A Trump presidency. Truth, justice, and the American way."

And in their caption, the White House also quipped: “THE SYMBOL OF HOPE. TRUTH. JUSTICE. THE AMERICAN WAY. SUPERMAN TRUMP.”

Understandably, people are divided online, with some calling it ‘embarrassing’ and others simply finding the whole thing funny.

One user wrote in the replies: “Oh you cannot be serious with this,” with a second adding: “You guys aren’t serious”.

“Could you be more embarrassing?” questioned a second social media user.

Meanwhile, a third and fourth penned: “LMFAO how is this a real account” and “This is embarrassing”.

“I never thought I’d see the day when the White House is just a joke. This is so embarrassing,” added someone else.

Another X user even made the bombshell claim: “This is one of the reasons why the Dems will have huge majorities in Congress after the 2026 elections.”

Baffled, someone else simply wrote: “I can’t believe this is real.”

And another person threw out the question: “To the non-Americans who are seeing this post, what does your country think about the USA right now?”

Elsewhere though, some people did find the comparison funny and are now jibing that Democrats will ‘try to impeach for it’.

One user joked: “Democrats are going to convene tonight to talk about impeaching him for this post.”

Meanwhile, a second person added: “Oh they are gonna be mad at y’all for this one.”

Another, taking the poster very seriously, chimed in with: “Strong, bold, unstoppable just like the country he’s fighting to restore and protect.”

And it’s not the first time Trump’s social media team have made headlines with their unique content.

A video shared last month included clips of the President at the NATO summit, and was overlaid with Usher’s 2020 hit 'Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home)'.

Text on the screen also read: “Daddy’s home,” referencing the equally odd moment where NATO boss Mark Rutte jokingly referred to Trump as ‘daddy’ during a press conference.
