Donald Trump creates new term for Republican voters leaving people divided

There's been Beliebers, Directioners, and Swifties - and now there's... Tepublicans?

That's right - US President Donald Trump, 79, has come up with a brand new term for his supporters, and everyone's a little bit confused.

He took to his own social media platform, Truth Social, to propose a few new nickname ideas this week.

Trump wrote: "There is a new word for a TRUMP REPUBLICAN, which is almost everyone (GREAT POLICY IS THE KEY!). It is, TEPUBLICAN??? Or, TPUBLICAN???"

Neither really rolls off the tongue and are yet to stick, with a lot of Americans preferring to just say 'Republicans' or 'MAGA' - which stands for 'Make America Great Again'.

One Twitter user, who's not a fan of the whole name thing altogether, wrote: "I'm a non party person. Voting for Trump 3 times doesn't make me a Republican or a TPublican It means I prefer him as President."

While a second questioned: "Maybe just Conservative?" and a third penned: "This is weird. I’m a America First Conservative."

"It was always about the people of this country. Not about one man," a fourth person pointed out.

And other brutally chimed in with: "Beyond cringe" and "Why not just MAGA Republican?"

"These are both awkward… Trumplican is better. Personally, I like MAGA Republican - I’m sticking with it!" someone else said.

Even Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., doesn't seem to be loving the name changes his dad suggested, and he took to Twitter to share his own.

He screenshotted his dad's Truth Social post and wrote: "Shouldn’t it really be Trumplican???"

In the replies, others agreed: "Yes, it should be Trumplican" and "Trumplican wins in my book."

However, someone else argued: "The focus should be on America and Americans. Not your dad."

And another said it should just be 'an American Republican', claiming they 'do not need any cutsie [sic] names'.

It comes just after Trump aimed at another female reporter, calling the New York Times' White House Correspondent Katie Rogers 'ugly inside and out'.

The news outlet shared an article titled 'Shorter Days, Signs of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities of Ageing in Office' - and he was not happy.

He brutally wrote on Truth Social: "The writer of the story, Katie Rogers, who is assigned to write only bad things about me, is a third-rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out.

"Despite all of this, I have my highest Poll Numbers, ever, and with record setting investment being made in America, they should only go up."
