Donald Trump ‘goes off’ on reporter who asked Jeffrey Epstein question after interrupting them

The American President, 79, made it clear he didn't want to speak about the late child sex offender

Donald Trump blasted a reporter who asked a series of questions about the Jeffrey Epstein files during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday (9 July).

On Monday, the FBI and US Justice Department finally released the CCTV footage from the convicted child sex offender's prison cell from the day of his death back in August 2019.

Epstein was found hanged in the New York prison cell on 10 August 2019 as he awaited, without the chance of bail, his trial on sex trafficking charges.

However, his passing sparked a number of conspiracy theories, including the well-known rumour that he kept hold of a list of clients who he blackmailed for influence.

People have also wildly questioned whether his death was really a suicide or whether he was actually killed to prevent him from giving evidence that might incriminate people in the limelight.

But, an investigation into the matter by the Justice Department and FBI has since confirmed that neither of these theories are true.

And it seems that the US President is sick of being asked questions about the child sex offender.

During the cabinet meeting, a reporter asked Trump a slew of questions about Epstein - including whether he ever worked for an intelligence agency and why there was a ‘missing minute from the jailhouse tape’.

Attorney General Pam Bondi was about to answer, when the Republican leader chimed in with: “Could I just interrupt for a second?

“Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years. We have Texas, we have this, we have all these things…”

He continued: “Are people still talking about this guy? This creep? That is unbelievable,” before turning to Bondi to ask whether she wants to ‘waste time answering’.

Trump raged: “I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this, when we’re having some of the greatest success and also tragedy with what happened in Texas. It just seems like a desecration, but you go ahead.”

After the slightly awkward moment, Bondi went on to answer the reporter’s queries.

She told the press: “In February I did an interview on Fox and it’s been getting a lot of attention because I was asked a question about the client list and my response was it’s sitting on my desk to be reviewed.”

Bondi clarified: “Meaning the file, along with JFK, MLK files as well. That’s what I meant by that.”

She also went on to say that the ‘tens of thousands’ alleged videos found in Epstein’s possession contained downloaded child pornography.

The Attorney General continued: “To him being an agent - I have no knowledge about that. We can get back to you on that.

“And the minute missing from the video. We released the video showing definitively, the video was not conclusive but the evidence prior to it was, showing he committed suicide.

“And what was on that, there was a minute that was off the counter. Every night the video is reset and every night should have the same minute missing so we're looking for that video to release that as well showing that a minute is missing every night.”

She concluded by simply stated: “And that’s it on Epstein.”
