Donald Trump has spoken out about Charlie Kirk's alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, and people have been left utterly perplexed.
Last Wednesday (10 September), Kirk was shot in the neck while speaking to a crowd at Utah Valley University in Orem. He was subsequently rushed to hospital, where he eventually passed away.
Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah native, has since been arrested following the shooting after the FBI revealed that a family member turned him in to authorities, with Trump issuing a statement on the suspect and his allegedly 'conservative' parents.
During a speech at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Sunday (14 September), Trump appeared to be well aware of who does and who doesn’t like him.

"Smart people don’t like me, you know?" he told the audience, who erupted in a chorus of laughter following his remarks.
Referencing Robinson, the 79-year-old Republican's speech continued: "And they don't like what we talk about, but he's become radicalised. So many things have been learned about him so quickly.
"He's become totally radicalised and crazy, and it must have been traumatic because the parents are conservative people, supposed to be very nice people living in Utah, and the father turns in the son."

He went on: "Boy, that's a tough deal. I actually asked somebody in the FBI. How often does that happen where knowing even the guilt that a father will turn in or parents will turn in the son, and he said 'almost never'."
Footage from the speech has since gone viral on social media, with many people rushing in to share their deductions that Trump essentially insinuated that his supporters are not smart people.
One X user penned: "I agree! Soooo does MAGA know what this means he thinks of them?"

A second quipped: "Trump calling his base dummies."
"The people laughing are so unaware of what he’s saying lmao," chirped a third while a fourth chimed in: "Calling the people who do like him dumb. We’ve been saying it, he’s been saying it, everyone’s been saying it. It’s why he wants to keep his base uneducated."

Another commented: "When he's right, he's right."

And a final X user echoed: "Omg! He actually said something I agree with!"
Trump's remarks come amid allegations that a website has been launched, gathering all of the information of anyone who 'celebrated' Kirk's death on social media.
The site reportedly plans to 'expose Charlie’s murderers', and features a collection of pictures and screenshots of people who posted comments either apparently 'celebrating' the killing, or negative remarks about Kirk.
It reads: "Is an employee or a student of yours supporting political violence online? Look them up on this website."
